Trail Report: Lake Gogebic, Michigan – February 15, 2017

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: Good

Date of Report: February 15, 2017

Area Report:

February 15th, 2017

With single digit temps today reports are saying that trails are looking pretty good at this point and that we should have some decent riding for the next few days.

Conditions are forecasted to be poor to good beginning on Sunday.    We rode the lake last night down to the Gogebic Lodge and then took Trail 1 back North and it was great.   Trails 102, 1 North and 13 North are looking very good.   8 East is good to Ewen – then gets thin and rocky.

With the exception of Friday, Sunday & Monday the predicted temps look cold enough to groom at night.     Wednesday & Thursday temps look good for daytime as well as nighttime grooming.   Groomers are hoping to the trails in decent shape to last through the next warmup.   Temps look to drop to winter temps by Wednesday of next week.

That said; expect wet holes to reopen, again, over much of our trail system this weekend.

Forecast is calling for snow every day from February 25th into the beginning of March – so don’t give up on this season yet!  We are hoping for some more of the season as we have a few rides we want to get in as well!

Thanks very much for everyone!

Trail Update:
NTG was out grooming last night and the east and north side of our trail system is finished. Trails to Clam Lake are currently in good to very good shape. We will also be out today as the temperatures will be cool enough to groom for the upcoming weekend. All of our trails should be done by the end of today.

There are some very unseasonably warm temperatures just around the corner for this weekend. We are hoping our trails will hold up through the traffic and warm weather. We likely will not be grooming until temperatures drop again and snow falls in our area. Please be safe on the trails, watch for other sleds and groomers (which are out day and night).

Trail Report: Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – February 15, 2017

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 8-10

Date of Report: February 15, 2017

Area Report:

Trail report for February 15 2017-Trails are fair. With the increased warmer temps and the bright warm sun our trails they have degraded quickly. The corners and around town are icy and bare and the logging areas are getting down to dirt. The open areas where the sun hits is creating puddles. Out in the woods it’s not too bad and there is not a lot of snow to make big bumps. The weather report for the next few days is more warm weather so that’s not so good. Let’s hope the weatherman is wrong. We can always use more snow and cold weather!!! Please be careful out there! Remember be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 12-14″

Date of Report: February 15, 2017

Area Report:

Looking at the forecast for the weekend you might be discouraged from riding. Yes, it looks like yer are in for a warm up, but we have a awesome base right now and some excellent trails. A little icy in the corners, road trails might become a little bare, but there is plenty of snow to ride. Trails are at their prime right now. This is going to be a very busy weekend, get up early and ride. The Three Lakes Tavern league is hosting their 2nd poker run of the weekend which are always fun. All of our trails are groomed a minimum of 5 times a week. As always when traveling across the lakes please stay close to the barrels.
