Closed = Impassable, trees & Brush or trails leading to lakes.

Partially Groomed = Wet Swamps, no access with Tractors yet.

Trails are overall in Good-Great condition. We still are unable to groom across numerous swamps so they could be wet and bumpy.

Our crew is still working on trails 12 and 19. These trails are especially difficult as they are mostly swamp and the trees and brush from the storm that have fallen have made things incredibly difficult to navigate.

The Turtle Flambeau Flowage and Lake of the Falls have been fully marked, please ride next to the stakes and be careful. Conditions can change rapidly.

Please be patient with us, after the near 2 feet of fresh snow and the amount of holiday traffic we have, our base didn’t fully set up which will lead to moguls on the trails. Be rest assured our entire fleet will be out all day every day to stay on top of it.

As always ride right, ride smart, and ride sober.

Trail Report – : Rhinelander, Wisconsin – December 31, 2025

Reporter:Hodag SnoTrails

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: good solid base

Date of Report: December 31, 2025

Area Report:

We received 12″ of just what we needed wet, heavy snow. The groomers and club members are out in full force getting the trails ready to go. The good, this is just what we needed to give the season a good start. The opportunity… the wet heavy snow took down a bunch of branches and caused a ton of “brush leaners” over the trail. Some of the trail signs could be tough to read until the snow comes off them. Let’s just be cautious out there and have some fun and save a little for the next ride.

Consider lake crossings unsafe unless the lakes are marked. Most lakes in the Hodag Sno-Trials system are in the process of being marked.

Trail Report – : Phelps, Wisconsin – December 30, 2025

News and Reports:

When traveling on lake trails this season, be aware of the new access lights throughout Vilas County.  2, on both sides of the trail, flashing a red/white/green light during hours of darkness.  This is your guide that the shoreline is there, and the exit of the lake trail is there.  Also, a reminder that the State of Wisconsin has a 55 MPH speed limit at night on all trails, and lakes.  Please adhere to this.  At that speed you are driving beyond your headlights.  We want you all to be safe and come back to visit us again.

Snowmobile Information:

Trail Report – : Iron County, Michigan – December 30, 2025

Reporter:Colleen

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 15 – 20 inches

Date of Report: December 30, 2025

Area Report:

Our trail system is open and groomer operators are out on the trails today.  We had a major storm come in Monday night through Tuesday. It left us with between 15 – 20 inches of new snow depending which side of the county you are on. It’s been a long tough winter so far for our club members and volunteers who have been working for weeks to clean up the downed trees and clear the brush off the trails after the Thanksgiving storm that blew in first. So if you get a chance to see a groomer going down the trail, please give them a BIG “Thumbs up”.  It will put a big smile on their face and on yours too!!

Below are the trails that I know of so far that are currently getting groomed today and tomorrow.

Trail #2 – Good, Trail #116 – Good, Trail #16 – Fair to Good, Trail #15 N. watch for a wet area, Trail #15 S – Good, Trail #107 – Good, Trail #111 – Fair to Good. We currently do not have any updates I can share from the Chippewa Sno-Kats on their grooming and trail conditions at this time. When I do, I will add to this report.

Again, such a “Wonderful” sight to see all this new snow and right before the New Year!! We hope to see you all this winter.  But until then, don’t forget, “Always” ride right, watch the corners for other sledders and possible ice.

Safe sledding and have “SNOW MUCH” fun riding this winter.

Reporter:snobuddies

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 13”

Date of Report: December 30, 2025

Area Report:

We received 13” of snow Sunday through Monday. The crew was out yesterday clearing down trees and low hanging branches. And with the cold temps this should set the trails up nicely. Just be alert while riding, there may be more obstacles on the trails.
