EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
VERY GOOD – EXCELLENT

Seems like SNOW everyday. Yesterday morning got up to 4 more inches. Then the Lake Effect SNOW moved & it SNOWED off & on all day. Total of 5 more inches!!

GTS – Groomer Tracking shows nearly full grooming overnight. Trails not groomed:

Trail 70W that heads to St. Germain BoBoen trails

Trail 17S that connects to Sugar Camp trails

Trail 7 aka Paintball Field that connects to Sugar Camp trails at County Hwy H

Trail 1 that comes of Trail 10E & heads to Eagle Waters Resort
With the heavy traffic again, groomers are doing their best to work out the moguls & some set bumps.

Weather for the week looks good. Day time temps high teens to mid 20’s. Night time single digits or below zero. Chance of SNOW Tuesday morning. Forecast say 2-3 inches. Next temp rise as of this morning if Friday when it is supposed to pop up to 42 & then drop back down on Saturday to 25 for a high.

Daily Reminders:
Reminder that Trail 13S does not run all the way to Three Lakes as a portion was closed. The Club is working on a reroute.

Eagle Lake was marked by businesses. There are 3 color safety lights at entrance & exit from/to the lake trail. There are mogul drifts along the barrels so recommend slowing down. Lots of SNOW mist so leave space between you & rider in front.

Catfish Lake is NOT MARKED. Uncertain it will open as there are no businesses open on the lake this winter. If you have not ridden the lake in the past DO NOT ATTEMPT at night. There are spots that can be thin or even open water. NO safety lights

Area Report:

In the northern part of Sawyer County, groomers on Friday evening 2/20 reported that trails are very hard so not cutting too much but smoothly out with grooming. We still need more snow, especially on southern exposed trails. Things are rideable but icy, and bare in some areas. Lakes are icy, so please use caution.

Wow, what an unexpected surprise!! We received 5+” of well needed snow over the weekend. Hodag Sno-Trails was out grooming and improving the base with the new snowfall. The conditions improved to “good” with the open areas now covered again and adding to the base.

Forecast is a possibility of a few more inches this week. The trails should be in good shape and continue through next weekend.

March riding is coming!! Let’s ride, stay right and have some fun.

Wow, a lot of traffic was out again this Saturday. Trails I rode early in the morning were moguls by evening. With the fresh snow we received this week helped out a lot. Every trail in Conover was hit last night, and they panned in beautifully. Looks like every club has been out at least on their busier trails flattening them back out.

I met some bigger groups last night while grooming. Most understand to find a place to get off the trail to allow me to pass. If the groomer has the ability to get off the trail, they will and signal to the group that is safe to pass. I had a few ride up to the groomer and stared at me. I had to signal to go back to a clearing. Had another 2 come up behind me, but they didn’t feel comfortable passing me, so I continued on to a trail intersection where they could pick another trail to go down.

As we close out the last week of February and head into March, this has been a great season for riding. Hopefully we can go all the way to end of March.

SNOWED overnight & SNOWING a bit right now. Maybe 3-4 inches out east this morning.

GTS – Groomer Tracking shows nearly full grooming overnight. Trails not groomed:

Trail 10E to include the spur trail – NOTE Short section from the Grade to Bloom Rd was groomed

Club Trail that spurs of 10/7 north & west of Town coming out on Hwy G

Rode 200+ miles yesterday in Vilas County mostly the east & northeast. Ton of traffic everywhere with large groups. Headed out on 10E from our house. AM 10E Good including Sno-Eagles section & Three Lakes section. After leaving Three Lakes trails heading west on 10 very rough. Same with 6. Heavy traffic up there. We rode out west on 6 for a bit. Turned around & decided to head toward Conover. Heading south on 6 rough til Trail 8. Took 8 to Trail 12 to avoid some of the traffic as that is mostly woods riding with some road. Headed to Pioneer Lake which again is combo of woods & road. Not bad & lower traffic. Crossed Pioneer Lake. The new flashing lights on entrances are great! From there heading to Eagle River it is a lot of road riding on Chicago Ave to Hwy 45 crossing. Started toward Eagle River on 10/13 but met the groomer. Wasn’t enough room to pass so we turned around & took Trail 3 to 17 into town to the grade. Again tons of traffic. Grade through town & south to Trail 10E. With all the traffic 10E was rough. Grooming overnight & trails are ready to go & smoother. Great day of riding! Ridin’ again Monday!

5-6 inches of wet packy SNOW yesterday! Perfect for grooming. SNOW off & on this through Wednesday. Does not look like big totals. At night mid teen to single digits at night! Trails should hold up & stay in great condition!

The Trails are still good to ride on and with the new snow and Grooming starting up again on monday,the trails should be good till the end of March.Be aware,with the warm temps,all roads and open areas will be bare and make some road rash when riding on.Please be safe and watch for water on the trails. THINK SNOW!!!!

Area Report:

At 8:00 a.m., it’s 26 degrees out with light snow falling. We are on the western edge of the
current snow pattern and are expecting an inch of new snow this morning. We have a .m., cool
down coming for the weekend.
Unfortunately, we are down to one groomer again but our remaining groomer has been out
around the clock. We last groomed 8E Wednesday p.m., 15S Thursday a.m., 8W and 15N/6E
Thursday p.m., and 2W early this morning.
Our trails are in late season riding conditions ranging from fair to good depending on the trail.
In the open areas you can encounter some puddles especially going south of town on trail
15S,8E and going west of town on trail 2W, 8W. It hasn’t been cold enough for these to freeze
up overnight. You will also encounter some thin spots especially on the hills and inside corners
but overall, we still have enough snow to continue grooming.
Tomorrow, we are hosting our annual Trailside Brat Fry at our Groomer Shed. This event starts
at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. If you are traveling by, stop in and enjoy a meal. We will
have tables inside the Groomer Shed and a bonfire outside.
Please ride safe, ride right, and enjoy the trails and area businesses while in our neck of the
woods!
Look for an updated trail report on Monday, 2/23.

Trail Report – : Antigo/Langlade County, Wisconsin – February 20, 2026

Area Report:

ZONE A (North Forest Zone) OF THE LANGLADE COUNTY SNOWMOBILE TRAIL SYSTEM INCLUDING STATE FUNDED TRAILS ARE SCHEDULED TO REOPEN ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 20TH, AT 12:00 P.M. (noon). ZONE B remains temporarily closed until further notice.

ATVs are not allowed on the trails when the temperature is above 28° F. UTVs are not allowed on the Langlade County Snowmobile trail at any time system due to weight and width of the machines.

The Langlade County Snowmobile clubs, sponsors and operators of the existing trails, have put in many volunteered hours brushing, signing, and grooming to provide snowmobile trails for your use. Please support the snow clubs, thank them for their efforts and patronized their business sponsors.

All lake trails in Langlade County are considered unsafe and should not be utilized until they have been clearly marked by a local snowmobile club. As always, the Langlade County Forestry, Parks & Recreation Department recommends riders stay on clearly marked trails, ride safe and ride “right”.

The snowmobile clubs spend a considerable amount of time working with landowners to be able to provide the exceptional trail system we have. Please respect private property and the efforts of the clubs to access private property; use of trails across private lands is a privilege. Always exercise caution when riding a snowmobile, due to recent warm weather, pockets of water are present throughout the trail system. Additionally, with recent high winds and wet snow, many trees/tops have come down throughout the trail system the snowmobile clubs have been out clearing trails, but riders are advised to use caution and be aware of changing conditions while on the trails.

Trails are shaping up nicely with the 4-7 inches of fresh heavy snow. Grooming is going on nightly as temps allow. Less traffic for sure than last week but don’t miss out on a great weekend for riding.
