EAGLE RIVERS  TRAILS
On average GOOD with VERY GOOD

March 7 2019 6:33am  – 6 below  – High 22

SNOW filled trails continue this morning. 6 below early.  Temps will be coming up as we move toward mid March.  Right now the SNOW is deep & the trails are great.  With warmer temps the conditions will begin to change.  So get out & ride.  SNOW moving in Saturday with an inch during the day & 3-5 inches forecast by the weather guys. The totals keep changing so stay tuned.

As for trail conditions. Trails are filled with plenty of SNOW.  With the sun out during the day & cold nights there will be some SNOW that gets crusty & SNOW levels will drop.  But SNOW is very deep.  With that in mind off trail riding is never recommended & with this deep SNOW doubly so. Corners are in many sections are piled high with loose SNOW.  There is still SNOW on the trail with no blow outs.  Icy conditions on some sections of the road trails.  All in all it’s really GOOD to VERY GOOD riding out there.  If you are riding sure you noticed that Trail 17N is sitting very high up.  Same with sections of 10E.  Please read the important updates for more info.

Grooming again.  The gts.groomertrackingsystem reports the following trails groomed:

Trail 13N to the Manske Swamp aka 3N & all of 17N

These important updates continue:

There is 1 logging operations going on where there is a need to use parts of the trails. Trail 13N by Deep Lake Rd. Plus utility work on 7 near Sugar Camp on the high line.

The snowbanks at driveway crossing & road crossings are still high. Road crews are still out winging road banks.  Expect some blocked road & driveway crossings.  Please stop & cross with caution.

Still seeing some signs buried in the deep SNOW.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Lakes are drifted & lots & lots of slush under the SNOW especially on Catfish Lake.  Drifting on Eagle Lake is much worse than on Catfish Lake.

The 2 one-way trail areas are 10E from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Please be aware that for now signs will be buried in many locations.  PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK A MAP SO YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF THESE TRAILS.

See ya on the trails. Get out & ride it is great out there!

See below for area specific reports. For the most up to date report of trail conditions, please contact the local snowmobile club.

Trails around the Solberg Lake area have been groomed and are in Excellent condition as of 3/1/19 except for Trail 121 North to Hick’s Landing Road from Trail 102. It hasn’t been groomed due to deep snow drifts in the open swamp area, but there has been snowmobile traffic through that section and it is rideable. It will be groomed early next week when the groomer can get through without getting stuck.

Prentice Bush Benders trail report 02/28/2019

With the blizzard on Sunday we have been scrambling to reclaim the trails from mother nature. The groomer has been going out without the drag to bust open the trails again. We busted open the worst spot last night where our groomer got stuck on Monday. This area is on trail 120 N-Corridor 19 to the North of Windy road. When riding in this area please use caution. The drifts were 4 to 6 feet high in this area and it will remain rough until the groomer goes through several times. This being said, our trails will all be groomed at least once by Friday night. There will still be loose snow so ride safely. We had a good base before the storm so the trails should come back to good condition fairly quickly with continued grooming operations and sleds riding the trails. Be safe and have fun.  Thank you, Prentice Bush Benders.

BEWARE OF DEER AND OTHER WILDLIFE ON THE TRAIL With the deep snow in the woods you will see many deer trying to move around.  Be a good person and give them time to get off of the trail.  It is this time of year that is real hard on all the wildlife: cold temps, scarce food sources and poor mobility due to deep snow  makes it tough on them.
