After Snow Fair to Good

February 11, 2022 – 6:50am 29 – High of 31 today – 8 below tonight

Looks to be 3 inches of wet Snow overnight.  Snow has moved out.  Lake Effect Snow off of Lake Superior on the way.  Moving in around noon.  Forecast for couple more inches.  Then tonight into the freezer with 8 below.  Groomers went out last night to get a step on the SNOW so trails were groomed ahead of the SNOW.  Grooming again tonight & trails should be in good shape.

The Groomer Tracking System AP (GTS) shows groomers left the Groomer Barn along Hwy 45N near the Snowmobile Derby Track last night for nearly a full grooming season. Sections NOT groomed are Trail 17S from Trail 7 to Sugar Camp connect, Trail 3 aka Manske Swamp that runs between 10/13 & 17N PLUS Club Trail Uncle Kent that start off Hwy G & connects to Trail 10W north of town. It takes long nights to accomplish this. Give them a thumbs up & remember to pull over to let them by.

Catfish & Eagle lake trails marked & OPEN. No reports of surface slush.  Stay by the orange reflective barrels.  DO NOT think the entire lake is safe.  Several sleds have gone in the water this season far from the barrels.

Please KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!

Time to ride!  See ya on the trails!

Trail Report – : Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin – February 11, 2022

Reporter:Toulish1

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 4-8″

Date of Report: February 11, 2022

Snowmobile Information:

I just got off duty from the trail dragster. We got smoked with the snow that was predicted, and it was fast and furious as promised. I am guessing 5″, but with the wind earlier it is hard to tell. Trail 17 along 47 was almost dirt, and tonight I had to use the force to find it in the open areas. White out at times. It has moisture in it as the drag had big marshmallows build up. Sled traffic compacted what I worked. Other than the marsh at the north end our our 17, our trails, with some riders help, and another pruning, will be excellent this weekend. Have fun and ride safe. Reporter:minocqua

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 6

Date of Report: February 10, 2022

Area Report:

4 inches of snow forecasted for tonight around 5:00 starting and continue all night, hopefully it is the heavy wet stuff, our trails remain good in the woods with some icy corners so slow down, railroad beds are thin and need snow, town trails need snow but still ridable with some snirt, they should all be good once we get this snow. This weekend should be great riding once our groomers get out tonight and pan the new snow.

Trail Report – : Sayner, Wisconsin – February 10, 2022

Reporter:SaynerStar Lake Barnstormers

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: Minimal

Date of Report: February 10, 2022

Area Report:

Snow conditions over the past few weeks have not improved.  The little bit of snow we have received has been dry and fluffy, which doesn’t help the trails.  Most of our trails remain flat, but the limited snow cover creates some very icy conditions.  Please be extremely careful when approaching corners.  If you are riding responsibly, you’ll be fine.  If you’re riding too fast, you’ll likely end up sliding off trail in the corners, or worse yet, causing an accident.

The forecast is calling for 3-5″ of new snow tonight!  We can only hope that the warmer temps will make this a wetter and more productive snow.

Unfortunately, one of our groomer drivers is not going to be able to finish out the season.  He was covering 4-5 shifts every week, so this will leave a big void for us.  We’ll be doing our best to cover all these shifts, but there may be some nights where we aren’t able to groom our entire system.

Please support all of the clubs by participating in their fundraisers!  Here’s a list of what’s coming up for the Barnstormers.  You can also get more info at http://www.saynerbarnstormers.com.
