Trail Report – : Conover, Wisconsin – February 5, 2026

Reporter:snobuddies
Trail Conditions: Excellent
Snow Cover: 10-12”
Date of Report: February 5, 2026
Area Report:

Did a short groom run last night, we hit the busier trails. Did a club ride out to Bents Camp and Brews Pub. As we started in Conover, we rode a trail that wasn’t groomed last night. It was in great shape yet. Trail 13 going north toward Land O Lakes was good, but had some spots down to the base. Not much we can do about that till we get some more snow. Trails were in good shape all the way, some of the road routes have been plowed down and winged back.

They are talking about us getting back into an active weather pattern. This morning, we had a little freezing drizzle right as we were getting ready to leave. Not good on a helmet coming out of a 70 degree home. I had to stop and warm helmet up enough so I could wipe off the moisture. After that we were good and heated shields were able to keep up. But that little bit of moisture added to the snow can help us form the trails up better.

Trail Boss Chad continues to monitor trails and determine how much we groom, what we do hit or take 1 day off if possible. We would love to be grooming into March, what a season it would be to have these great trails for a full snowmobile season.

I’m due to groom again on Saturday and I’m scheduled to hit everything on the east side. The same for west side of Conover.

Ride Right, Ride Safe

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 15 – 24 inches of snow cover

Date of Report: February 4, 2026

Area Report:

Our trail system is open and in very good to excellent condition. The forecast for tonight into tomorrow says to expect 1-3 inches of new snowfall. Temps are in the 20’s during the day and dipping down at night. Both clubs have their groomers and operators out on the trails grooming getting them ready for a good weekend coming up. When you see them on the trails, and you will see them, give them a “Thumbs-Up”!  They appreciate it almost as much as you appreciate the flat trails to ride on.

Very Good to Excellent Trails – #2, #107, 15 N, #111, #16, #116, #113 and #18.

Good to Very Good – Trails – #15 S

If you come across any trees or obstacles in a trail, please note what trail it is on and contract one of the snowmobile clubs. Iron Range Trail Club maintains the west side of the county and The Chippewa Sno-Kats maintain the east side of the county. It’s been such a great site seeing all the sleds out this past January. With trails being so good we are expecting February to be just as busy. As always, please ride right and watch the corners for any oncoming traffic. We hope everyone has a great time and stays safe!!

Short report today.  If you aren’t riding, why not?  Trails are from Good to Excellent everywhere I ride.  10E all the way out to the Three Lakes or Phelps or Trail 6 connect.  Heading to town on 10E great even road crossings.  In town “grade” is great in the AM  bumpy in the afternoon. Crossing at Dairy Queen a bit snirty from sand & brine on the road.  Through town GOOD all the way. Trail 10/13 after crossing has a few chop spots but not bad.  17/3 same as 10/13. Heading west ice or snow covered. 17/7 to Sugar Camp trails great. 17S has some chop.  Haven’t ridden 70W to St. Germain in a while.  Will tomorrow.  Heading to a Snowmobile Recreation Council meeting in Arbor Vitae.

Here’s a photo of GTS tracking of grooming overnight.  Right click to see a large photo

Snow off & on yesterday all day.  Maybe 1 inch.  At 7am it is cloudy & looks to be cloudy all day with no SNOW.  Next SNOW tomorrow night & off & on all day on Wednesday.  Temps are bouncing up on Wednesday to high 20’s-low 30’s which is bringing the precip.  This weekend cloudy with single digits at night & high 20’s during the day.  Next SNOW looks to be next Tuesday night & all day Wednesday, Thursday to Friday morning. 2-3 inches forecast.  See if that holds.

Rode a short run yesterday & trails in great shape.  Still traffic, but not like this past weekend.  Please remember there are other riders out there when you ride.  Stay on the right side of trail.  Slow down in the corners. As a matter of fact slow down in general.  Past weekend my husband was side swiped.  The rider of the sled was hauling & out of control.  After the side swipe he fell off sled.  Sled kept going & hit another in our group of 6. Sled front end smashed.  This could have been worse.

GTS – Groomer Tracking System shows light grooming last night.  Left groomer barn on 10/13 heading north.  Crossing highway by Derby Inn onto 17/3. East on 17 to 1 that heads south to the boat launch on Eagle Lake.
