Trail Report 3/12/2018

NE Quadrant

As of March 12, 2018, Trail 235 is closed from Trail 2 (Tri County Corridor) to Highway E.

There are areas of great riding but the warm days are taking their toll. With the expected warm temperatures, we will probably close trials before the weekend. A limited amount of grooming took place Monday.

Trail 4 east of Hawthorne is said to be pretty ugly in the logging area.

Trail 2 in Superior is pretty bare in the east end of Superior.  Trail 2 west of the Brule River is pretty pare for a block or so.

Trail 27A is icy, Trail 27 north of Trail 27A is still quite rideable.

NW Quadrant

Trails in the Drift Dodgers Club area are still being groomed as we still have sufficient snow pack and are in pretty good shape overall.  The warmer temperatures are starting to take their toll and trails are beginning to melt.  Please watch for accumulating water in lower areas and swamps.  Gravel road connectors are bare.  We anticipate there is a very good likelihood that the trails will close soon.

The Crosstown trail in Superior has been closed.

Please note the parking lot located off Tuff Road has been closed for the season and there is no trail access from that lot.

SW Quadrant

At this time our trials continue to be at a solid good rating.  Where the trails are on or along roads or logging, we would rate them as poor.  Please use the trails appropriately and respect our landowners.

SE Quadrant
All JPR trails remain open at this time.

Trails 27B, 41N, 541, 41S, and 41B are groomed and are in fair shape.

Trails 217 and Trail 17
Trail 217 and Trail 17 are in mainly fair condition, but poor where trails are near or along roads.

Douglas County Ski Trails
The Douglas County Cross Country Ski Trails have been groomed late last week and are in good condition.

The Superior Municipal Forest Cross Country Ski Trails as of March 13 have been recently groomed, and there is still snow on most of the trail, however bare patches are beginning to show up and grow with warmer temperatures.

Pattison State Park has been groomed, but please watch for bare spots as the weather continues to warm-up.

Brule River After Hours Ski Trail as of March 12 were groomed and in fair condition.  Bare spots are beginning to pop up, so please watch out for them as they grow.
