Trail Report – : Spooner and Washburn County, Wisconsin – February 18, 2026

Reporter:Washburn County
Trail Conditions: Poor
Snow Cover: 2 - 4" Base
Date of Report: February 18, 2026
Area Report:

With the recent warm and sunny weather that we received over this last weekend, trails have dropped off significantly in condition. Currently there is an average of 2-4 inches of base remaining and the conditions have dropped down and are now poor to fair. As stated last week, wide open non shaded areas have taken a hit, where the shaded areas have remained in good condition. Grooming operations have halted for the time being and a decision will be made later this week to determine the status of the trails. Upcoming forecasts will ultimately be the deciding factors. We ask riders to use common sense during this time to avoid diminishing the snow that is still out there. We also encourage riders to use caution if out on the trails.

If you encounter any trail issues such as downed trees, limbs, or debris, please report them to Washburn County Forestry at 715-635-4490.

Please be advised that ice conditions continue to vary and traveling on any lake is never 100% safe. Washburn County Forestry does not maintain anything past the high ground point. Please use caution if you are out on any lake.
