Your Online Trail and Travel Guide for Snowmobiling the U.S. & Canada

Trail Report – : Rhinelander, Wisconsin – February 28, 2018

Reporter:Hodag SnoTrails
Trail Conditions: Fair
Snow Cover: diminishing quickly
Date of Report: February 28, 2018
Area Report:

The sun and warm temperatures are taking a heavy hit to the trails.  The trails are in fair condition with spots that are poor.  The trail base is soft and mushy at this point.

The trails that are exposed to the sun have bare spots and snirt.  The forest roads are fair, but to have a full day ride, you will most likely encounter areas that are poor.  The trail into town has bare spots.  The further you can go out of town the better off they are.

Grooming activity has been halted until cooler weather returns – hopefully.

When riding these conditions, please stay on the marked trails at all time.  It can be enticing to go off the trails to hit some plentiful snow, but the ramifications with an upset landowner can be devastating to the trail system.

Could be the last runs of the year in the next few days.
