Trail Conditions: Early Season

Snowmobile Information:
So, if you are older, this may be funny. If you are younger I may be “funny”. Back in 1978 the series “WKRP in Cincinnati” aired. Travis asked Nes about his eyewitness weather report. ” Well, I look out the window and witness the weather” Then Travis asks him how he can do helicopter traffic reports without a helicopter, and he starts beating on his chest to make it sound like a helicopter as he does his report from the sound booth. Sometimes I trail report from my sled, today by helicopter in my jammies.
Hornshoe Trailboss Nick reported thin but rideable yesterday. We had decent traffic yesterday, and my spot-checks in the afternoon showed it. We are beat up and a little scrawny out in the open areas, better in the woods. A friend rode Mercer and reported yesterday afternoon thin, but rideable, as did a groomer from Manitowish Waters this morning. White Thunder Riders to the north are still reporting positive.Weather is 30 today, chance of snow 53%, 36 tomorrow, chance of snow 73%, then 21 degrees and 15% Wednesday and 41 degrees Thursday. After that warmer temps, but below freezing, with a chance of snow every day, for quite a distance out. I will wait until Thursday to report for the weekend as this could be good.
MS Riders are coming this week starting Wednesday, and they stay at the casino. Northern Hornshoe Club sponsors lunch at our barn Friday. They show up every year to raise money for a good cause, and they come by sled, or by bus, no matter what the conditions. An amazing group of genuine, down to earth, fun, snowmobilers, and non-snowmobilers, that just like to try and make a difference, and have fun.
Talk to you Thursday. Mark
