Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: 9-10 Inches
Date of Report: January 17, 2023
Area Report:

January 17, 2022

The northland had rain on Monday, followed by a couple inches of wet snow overnight. There is more snow in the forecast for Thursday, as well as cooler temperatures which will help firm things up. We haven’t gotten any additional information to begin the week, likely as the conditions are quite soft today for groomers to get out. Please keep an eye out here for additional trail information.

You can always track the grooming progress in the GTS app.

All trails in Sawyer County have been cleared from the December storm. There will still be areas of concern and falling branches through the season so please reach out to the Sawyer County Snowmobile and ATV Alliance and let them know if you encounter an area where safety is a factor.  This can be anything from down trees, big branches, drifts piled too high, signs knocked down or signs absent.

Lakes are rough due to the slow freeze and amount of slush. All lakes are staked for riding except Lake Hayward. We are unsure of an eta at this time. Some lakes are better than others. Over time they will get better but please ride with caution and stay on the marked trails. If you must go off the trail to lodging or dining, please ride with caution at safe speeds and watch for heaves, frozen tracks, and slush.

All surround counties are fully open and report good to excellent riding except Rusk County, which is partially open and still working with storm clean up.
