EAGLE RIVERS  TRAILS
VERY GOOD

March 1 2019 7:23am  – 5 below  – High 26

There is SNOW still forecast for later this afternoon into tonight.  1 inch during the day & another 1-3 inches tonight.  Temps in the 20’s today & Saturday. Single digit below zero at night.  Starting Sunday single digits above during the day thru Monday. Looks like below zero at night until next Thursday.

The groomer drivers & volunteers have done a great job on the trails!  The are in Very Good shape after a ton work. Will find some small chucks of snow but for the most part trails are smooooth.  There are some current updates that would be good to check out below.

Grooming continued yesterday & last night.  Trail Boss reports following trails groomed:

10E to include 9mile
70W/7/13 west to St. Germain connect
17S to the Sugar Camp connect
7 aka Paintball Field toward Kathan Inn & Sugar Camp connect
13N to Conover connect
3N aka Manske Swamp
10W/7 to Sayner connect
13N to include one way in the Buckatabon/Bauers area
17N to just beyond trail 1N
1N to the Eagle Lake boat launch

Here are some important updates:

Trail 10W/13N aka Wisconsin River Bridge Trail is Closed Effective Immediately

There is 1 logging operations going on where there is a need to use parts of the trails. Trail 13N by Deep Lake Rd. Plus utility work on 7 near Sugar Camp on the high line.

The snowbanks at driveway crossing & road crossings are very very high. Crews are still out winging road banks.  With clean up continuing & expect some blocked road & driveway crossings.  Please stop & cross with caution.

As trails get cleaned up trail signs will be buried in deep SNOW.  It will take clubs throughout Vilas County time to unbury or add post extensions to the existing signs.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. With that said the SNOW will be way deep & will have drifts.  So expect dangerous conditions.  Might be best to stay off.

The 2 one-way trail areas are 10E from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Please be aware that for now signs will be buried in many locations.  PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK A MAP SO YOU KNOW THE LOCATION OF THESE TRAILS.

See ya on the trails. Give ‘the groomers 2 thumbs up!
