Great to have a ton of SNOW on the trails. Frozen base is 3 inches +-. With plenty of SNOW on top. Nightly grooming will keep them smooth & building the hard base!

The hardy groomer drivers groomed last night.  Here’s what they groomed

  • Trail 10/13 ”the grade” through town in both directions
  • Trail alt 13S to Three Lakes trails
  • Trail 70W to St. Germain trails
  • Trail 17S to Sugar Camp trails
  • Trail 7S to western Sugar Camp trails
  • Trail 13N from town to Conover trails
  • Trail 10W/13N from intersection at Conover connect across WI River Trail
  • Trail 13N after the WI River Trail crossing toward Conover trails. Also known a Bauers Dam run

Best way to learn the trails is to buy a Sno-Eagles trail map.  Plus download the GTS trails app  It is available at the App Store.

Well this morning it is 17 BELOW zero 6 miles east of Eagle River!  So if you are riding today might want to wait ’til lunchtime as by then it should be above zero.  If you do ride here are some cold weather riding tips:

  • Extra layers of clothing
  • Gloves/mittens with long lasting hand warmers or try a pair of battery heated gloves. Gauntlets over handle bars good too
  • Cold weather boots with layered socks. Boot warmers are good too
  • Fully charged phone stored in the inside pocket of your jacket
  • Heated shields are great other wise remember to breath through your nose to prevent fogging
  • Stop more frequently & drink water. Cold can cause dehydration

Please stay on the trails to keep the trails open.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked with orange reflective barrels.  Please stay by the barrels to be safe.  The lakes are marked by the businesses on the lake so stop in & thank them when you’re out riding.
