SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Varying conditions
11 below zero this morning on the way up to 24. As sunrise approaches the temps may drop even more before heading up. 6 degrees tonight. Rest of the week 20’s during the day & single to low teens over night. Next SNOW forecast for this Sunday.
The quick drop in the temps firmed up the trails. Plenty of SNOW but it also brought very icy conditions in some areas. Some areas are crusty ice but there also are some very shiny icy areas. Please slow down. Not just the corners. Everywhere.
Evil sun yesterday did cause some burn through at road crossings & trails on south side of the road. Here’s to no evil sun.
Groomer Tracking Systems reports nearly ALL trails were groomed in the last 24 hours. Here is the grooming report
- 10W/13N through town down “the grade” Alt13 aka 3S to 10E intersection
- 10E to include 9Mi, GrampaGram aka 1
- Trig’s Shell section of the City trail
- 10W/13N to Conover connect to 3N
- Manske Swamp 3N
- Wisconsin River bridge aka 10W13N
- 10W & 7S to Sayner area
- All 13’s heading north to the Bauers turn around
- 17N to just beyond 1 intersection
- 1 to the Eagle Lake boat launch
Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked. Reports of sizeable moguls. Please stay by the orange reflective barrels.
Last this morning hearts go out to the family of the man who lost his life yesterday afternoon. God Bless Them. Can’t speak strong enough this morning about the icy conditions. Respect the conditions & adjust your speed. Slow down. Straight aways & corners.
