Fair on Average – Conditions changing quickly
Fine light SNOW as I report this morning 6 miles east of Eagle River. Just like yesterday. More SNOW Tuesday, Wednesday morning & Friday. Warm up is here & will last until Friday. Weather guys forecasting temps & 30’s & even 40’s until next Friday for highs. For the most part temps at night will be in the mid 20’s & snow will freeze up. Heavy, heavy traffic this weekend. Some trails are fatigued out. Grooming will switch over to panning to build up the base again. Trails that run on the north & west side of road breakdown first keep that in mind when you ride. As always woods riding is the best. Road routes are for the most part still ice covered on the edges & right of ways on the roads in most place still have hard snow. Some road routes are hard snow covered as of this morning, like Taylor Lake Rd that is part of 10E which is a one way trail starting near the Sports Arena. Heading out still pretty SNOW covered. Head west back to town Fair to Poor. Lots of sections with snirt. Photo on the left was taken by drivers last night! Not all bad!
GTS app shows almost full grooming session. Right click on the map to see an enlarged version,
- Trail 10W/13N heading north from the grooming along Hwy 45N near the WCDC Snowmobile Race Track. All the way to the Conover Sno-Buddies connect. Thin & fatigued in town. Better heading north.
- Trail 10W13N Wisconsin River Bridge section – Rough & thin on the approaches. Frozen ice holding. Bridge moguled.
- Trail 10W/13N at the intersection west of the Bridge groomed in both directions. 13N & 10W snow covered but fatiguing from the high traffic. Snirty on hills, again from the high traffic. 13N groomed to Conover Sno-Buddies connect at Trail 45. 10W all the way to connects with Sayner Barnstormers & St. Germain BoBoen trails.
- Trail 10/13 from the groomer barn heading sough to the intersection behind the Dairy Queen. Trail 70W groomed all the way to the St. Germain BoBoen connect. For the most part snow covered.
- Trail 13S & 7 that split off 70W past Parsons Motors groomed to connect with Sugar Camp at Ripco Rd. Trail 7 groomed to Sugar Camp connect at Hwy H. Good to Fair. Snow softened yesterday & frozen again last night
- Trail 3N/17N which split from 10W13N by the Best Western was completely groomed Trail 3N is a new re route & sill choppy & is snirty. Same for sections of 17N.
- Trail 1 that splits of of 17N & head to Eagle Lake. It runs along Deerview Ln & then Town Hall Rd. Remember to ride the trail that is in the ROW
Eagle Lake & Catfish Lake crossing are safe only by the orange reflective barrels. No surface slush as of this morning. That may change with the warm up.
