SNOW early Friday night into Saturday morning
Temps popping up to high of 20 on Friday & 26 on Saturday bringing SNOW. 3-4 inches at most. May also be a little more Sunday morning. No totals for Sunday. Time for a SNOW DANCE!!! Monday through next Thursday back in the freezer with temps. Single to maybe 12 for highs. Below zero every night! Snow isn’t going anywhere. Let’s hope we get some wet SNOW. Much better to groom.
GTS Groomer app shows the following trails groomed last night:
- Trail 10W/13N through town heading north to the Conover connect – Thin snow cover through town – improves after the Hwy G crossing
- Trail 10W/13N aka Wisconsin River portion to 10W/13N intersections – rough spots on both sides of the land trail approaches to the bridge. Icy.
- Trail 10W to just past the Boot Lake Rd trail crossing
- Trail 10E/13S through Eagle River to Trail 13S/70W intersection. Headed west to connect with Trail 7 just past Parsons.
- Trail 13S/7S to just before the intersection where 13S & 7S aka Paintball Field split. Turned around & headed back.
NOTE: Trail 10E out of Eagle River becomes a one way from the ERRA SPORTS ARENA all the way to Mikes Gas Station. It runs alone Hwy 70E. The south side of the trail is ONE WAY going EAST only. The north side of the trail is ONE WAY going WEST (back to Eagle River). Intersections are clearly marked with ONE WAY trail signs & DO NOT ENTER signs. Very dangerous to go the wrong way.
Catfish Lake & Eagle Lake Trails are marked with orange reflective barrels. Stay by the barrels as there is no guarantee the rest of the lakes are safe. They have icy spots so please slow down. Lots of lakes have ice heaves so be safe & stay by the barrels wherever you ride.
Right now trails are either hard & icy with dry snow. Hard & icy with spots of snirt. Especially on the north of trails that run along roads or through wide open areas. Can tell you some pretty good riding in woods, under cover. Bit of Adventure Sledding getting there. p.s. Road routes are hard ice in spaces & bare in others.
See ya on the trails!
