By recommendation of the Langlade County Snowmobile Council, the Langlade County Snowmobile Trail System, including all state-funded trails, closed on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

At this point, the closure is expected to be temporary but is weather-dependent. The purpose of this temporary closure is to preserve the remaining base during a period of very warm weather and possible rain. The Langlade County snowmobile trail system will reopen when/if weather and trail conditions improve.

The Langlade County Snowmobile Ordinance prohibits snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles from operating on the trails after the official closing date.

ATVs are not allowed on snowmobile trails until 10 days after the opening of the snowmobile trails and are not allowed on the trails when snowmobile trail system is closed or when open the temperature is above 28° F. UTVs are not allowed on the Langlade County Snowmobile trail system at any time due to the weight and width of the machines.
