There was a very high level of snowmobile traffic across our system all weekend. Groomer crews were out every night to keep up. Sunday’s unexpected sun and warm temps took a major toll. Last night, crews cut down moguls and smoothed excess snow into bare areas as best as possible while assessing the system. In-town trails and open areas with direct exposure are scorched to bare frozen ground. Conditions are very poor in many areas. Today is the worst of the weather days and will have the biggest negative impact. Every potential sled that passes is only adding to the problem. We are pausing groomer operations this week until conditions allow.
The weekly Club rides are cancelled until further notice due to the conditions. Please check our website for the latest information – https://snoeagles.org/events/
We will keep you updated on conditions later in the week. Let’s hope for the rapid return of cold and snowfall! – Dan Dumas, Trail Boss Sno-Eagles Snowmobile Club.
There it is for you.  PLEASE STAY OFF TRAILS FOR NOW.

Trail Closure Announcement

The Mercer Area Sno-Goers trail system will close on Wednesday 2/26/2025 at 8:00 AM until further notice.

What an incredible season it has been! From the first ride of the year to the countless memories made on the trails, we are so grateful for everyone who came out to enjoy and support our system. A huge thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers, landowners, and sponsors who make this all possible.

Unfortunately, the warm weather has taken a toll on the trails, making it necessary to close them for now. However, if we receive enough snow and conditions improve, there is still a possibility of reopening. We will continue to monitor the weather and provide updates as they come.

Thank you all for a fantastic season—fingers crossed for more snow!

Trail Report – : Hurley, Wisconsin – February 25, 2025

Reporter:hurley@hurleywi.com

Trail Conditions: Poor

Snow Cover: 3-4″

Date of Report: February 25, 2025

Snowmobile Information:

After 2 full days of the temperature around 50*, and nights well above freezing with light rain, our trail system took a beating.  You will find full coverage in the shaded areas of our wooded trails, but getting there is getting more challenging each day.  Unlike a “normal” season around Hurley, WI, we just haven’t had the snows to create the massive base to withstand these warm-ups. We are still open, but this system has bee downgraded to poor at this time.  We can hope for more cold and snow with over a month left of our possible Wisconsin Winter season, but it’s really up to Mother Nature now. Thank you to everyone at White Thunder Riders and their supporters as we struggle through this early breakup.  Please watch for changing conditions if you still choose to ride, and stay on the trail right-of-ways.
