Area Report:

As is typical for this time of year, certain trail segments can be opened and others are not ready yet due to wetland crossings and/or have restrictions due to private land easements. It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to use their property. Please review the information below carefully before trail riding and confirm that you are using open trails. Please note that on certain trails only segments of that trail may be open at this time. We anticipate frequent updates as the clubs report in with trails they have checked. In all areas where the winter recreational trails are closed the clubs are actively working on the getting the trails open.

Douglas County received a good amount of snow over January 8-10.  We will be updating as clubs start to open trails.

Trails Good to Excellent Condition

Trails are in great shape for the start of the weekend! Trails groomed. 20 below over night is just perfect to set them up.  They are smooth.

Last night grooming schedule was:

  • 70W heading toward St. Germain
  • 10W heading toward Sayner
  • 13N heading toward Conover
  • Alt 13S to the Bonson Farm toward Three Lakes
  • 17N/3N in Town area
  • 3 across Manske Swamp area

Trails not groomed last night will be groomed tonight. All are deep snow covered & in good shape.  The trail sections on Trail 10E that were on an angle are leveling out.  Did find some road crossings where the trail was plowed in.  This will be cleared up when they groom tonight.

WI River Bridge area of Trail 10W/13N not groomed.  Still concerns that the grooming equipment is too heavy to travel through until more freezing of those areas goes on.

Catfish Lake Loop & Eagle Lake Trail are OPEN & safe by the orange reflective barrels. No surface slush along the orange barrels on Eagle Lake.

As you ride keep the Emergency 3 Digit Numbers in mind.  If you need assistance with an emergency call 911 & give them the most recent number you saw.  This helps dispatch pin point your location.
