Area Report:
The conditions around here are nothing to write home about and all we can hope is that they get better – which we know they will. Several days of above freezing temps and some rain has taken a toll – however – temps look to drop below freezing starting tomorrow and will continue to hover in the mid 20’s for at least the next week. While that is good news – we need those temps to drop down to single digits in order to freeze up the open water first. So when you are praying for snow – please be sure to keep cold temps in the prayers :). Our forecast is calling for 14 days of straight snow and John Dee’s forecast indicates 12-24” of snow between Jan 28-Feb 2nd.
We have guests in house who have been trailoring their sleds up to the Twin Lakes area. They said it’s not that great – but it is rideable – somewhat.
We hope to have better news to report – but that’s where we stand at present.
Think Cold and Snow!

The Cross Country Cruisers will resume grooming Operations starting tonight. The temps are going to be back in our favor later tonight and there is snow in the forecast so this will allow us to start putting are trails back in shape. The trails in town and the road routes took the hardest hit. Also the road crossings where the salt and sand gets drug up on the trails. Trails in the woods held up fairly well, with the exceptions of some corners that have become bare. We will do are best to get our trails back in great shape. This will take a couple nights of grooming and some new snow. So lets all keep doing the SNOW DANCE!!!

Trail Conditions: Good
Snow Cover: enough, but soft
Date of Report: January 23, 2017
Area Report:
Surprisingly, we have made it through the January thaw without losing the trails. I went out and ran a good portion of our trails yesterday and was pleasantly surprised how good they were. Everything in the woods was good with a little snirt in the corners and exposed areas. The road routes are thin and/or icy. The lakes are full of slush. Stay close to the barrels for best running.
We pulled the groomers off to hold the base, and it worked. There was very little sled traffic, so the corners didn’t get tore up from the soft conditions. Overall, we came out of this okay.
There is snow in the forecast for Tuesday night, so we could be in good shape for a rebound from the warm-up.
The club just bought a new groomer, so they are itching to get it out, and get the trails in world class condition.
Please stay on all marked trails!! Join a local club, they can use the support.

Trail Conditions: Poor
Snow Cover: 8-10
Date of Report: January 23, 2017
Area Report:
Trail report for January 23, 2017-Trails are poor. With the temps in the mid 30’s to the mid 40’s and the on and off rain this past weekend the trails have really degraded. The corners and around town have bare spots with slush and puddles. We are down to our base and that is starting to get soft. The logging areas are very bare. Out in the woods it’s not too bad but our groomers can’t get out with these warm temps to do any good. We do have a snow storm system coming in late Tuesday and Wednesday with 3” to 5” of snow and then some colder temps expected. If this happens we will be out grooming. We need snow and cold weather!!! Please be careful out there! Remember be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.
