Trails In Fair Condition
Icy – Need Snow

It was in the 20’s yesterday & very little sun so the trails held up well.  This photo was taken yesterday afternoon on the Eagle River Trails.

Trail Boss Brian reports the following trails were groomed last night:

10W toward Sayner, 13N toward Conover, Alt 13 heading south to Three Lakes, Trail 3 (Manske Swamp) heading west, 10W/13N.

He also reports that “all grooming has been suspended until weather permits”.

Trails are icy everywhere so if you are riding slow down.  In the woods under cover there is good riding. There is blow out in corners.  Trails along roads such as 10E have burn through on the trails. A lot of the road routes do not have much snow on them.  In town a lot of snirt.

Both Catfish Lake Loop & Eagle Lake Trail are safe by the orange reflective barrels. No surface slush this morning.  This may change.

Lot so traffic so please Ride Right & Ride Safe!

Reminder that from dusk to dawn the Statewide speed limit is 55MPH even on the lakes.

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 16 inches

Date of Report: February 16, 2017

Area Report:

I just rode from Sunrise Lodge to Phelps, thru Conover trails, and got gas in Land O Lakes and all was very good. We met the Frosty groomer at about 2 PM and it is lightly snowing and 27 degrees. Hard to believe 50 degrees is in the forecast. We should have a couple more days before the trails are shot. I know alot of people are cancelling so maybe there will be less traffic and the trails will not suffer as much.

Trail Report: Hayward / Sawyer County, Wisconsin – February 16, 2017

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 0 to 5 inches

Date of Report: February 16, 2017

Area Report:

Hello Riders!

As you have been all following, the weather has brought unwelcomed warmer weather but we are fighting back in Sawyer County. Our trails continue to be open in the county. Unfortunately the Tuscobia and other areas in the southern part of the county has reported to be poor and bare. As much as we don’t like this word it seems to be the only one to use at this time and one we hope will change before winter nears the end. The GOOD NEWS is on the wooded trails in the Seeley Hills and to the north is there is a 4-5″ base and reports to be good as groomers continued up through yesterday in those areas. In the open and near the roads there will be many bare spots being exposed so traveling to and from cabins/homes and to pit stops there will be bare and poor areas. But the lakes are also reported to be in good condition, we do advise to stay on the marked trails as the weather warms, we will inform with an updates on lake reports. So with the lakes in good conditions and the Seeley Hills and north reported as good you can find those good trails and map out a ride.

Surrounding County Updates; Ashland, Bayfield, Washburn and Price counties continue to be open as well. Rusk County to the south is closed right now.

Thank you to all the volunteers and club members and to all of you for following us!
