Snowmobile Trail Conditions

Prentice Bush Benders trail report 02/06/2019

Well we finally got 6+ inches of snow over night with 8+ more predicted for Thursday. Last weekend our trails held up really well from snowmobile traffic so our base is still there. The melt on Sunday really hurt the open areas but with the new snow these are not an issue any more. There may be some over flow from the melt on Sunday so ride safely. We will be grooming all week and should have all trails groomed by the weekend. The trails should all be in good condition by the weekend. Ride safe and have fun.

Kennan/ Catawba Driftsplitters 2/6/2019

We will have all trails groomed and in very good shape by Thursday. There is logging on trail 94 and on trail 181 between intersection 100 and intersection 101. With the good snow we got all trails will be groomed twice a week.

Sno Gypsies 2/6/2019

Trails are being groomed a couple times a week now. All trails are open. The fresh snow last night really added to the good base we have. Additional snow tonight and tomorrow will only help to make them better. Enjoy the trails and ride safe.

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 12 to 14 inches

Date of Report: February 6, 2019

Area Report:

Last weekend was fantastic riding…We did recover from the rain on Sunday when  Mother Nature brought us 5 to 7 inches of snow throughout the trail system on Tuesday.   More snow is predicted before the weekend.  All three groomers have been out so the trails are back into great shape.   I want to rate them as very good condition.   With the large amounts of snow, groomers will be out there non-stop in an attempt to keep the bumps knocked down.

THE GROOMERS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY!  PLEASE!  BE AWARE…THEY WILL HAVE TO BE OUT THERE DURING THE DAY ALSO TO KEEP THE TRAILS IN GOOD SHAPE.

Have Fun…Drive Safe…

See you out there…

Area Report:

Lots happening on the Frosty Club trail system. We received about 4 inches of fresh snow on top of the ice we received Monday so trails are fast and white. Temps are excellent for riding. There are lots of tree branches covered with ice and snow hanging over the trail and as I found out last night they HURT when u hit them. Corners are going to be slippery with the ice so PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Both of our Pisten Bully groomers are down with planetary drive issues–if you do not know what that means like I did not until recently it means main drive shaft and mega$$$$$. Trail Boss Rob has the parts being delivered ASAP and will work through the night to get the machines back on the trail. Hopefully Thursday. Stop in the Alley and say THANKS Rob for all the hard volunteer work he has done to make the Frosty Club trails great!

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 8-12 inches

Date of Report: February 6, 2019

Area Report:

Trail report for February 6, 2019– Trails are good. We had very light traffic on the trails the last few days. Yesterday we had a couple inches of snow to freshen up the trails. We are expected to get several inches (3” to 7”} of snow between today and Thursday night. We will have to wait to see how much we get. With the added snow the groomers should be able to lay out a nice trail. The temps are above zero at this time, but the lows are expected to dip below zero throughout the weekend. The corners and other areas remain very icy. Please use caution! With the added snow we anticipate an increase in traffic toward the next few days. Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Here are your current conditions:
Wow, what a crazy past 7 days for weather, we went from 40 below zero, to 35 and rain, back down to zero and last night 5-6” of fresh snow. We groomed everything just after the rain and made them flat. All we needed was the snow, well we got it. More coming too. Now is the time to ride. Trails are excellent. Watch out for low hanging branches. All trails are being groomed 4-5 times a week. Trails have a great hard base. A few icy corners ans a few snirty spots, but overall trails in great condition.

Please, slow down and limit your drinking. Way too many fatalities in northern Wisconsin, and they all can be prevented.

Lakes are all marked. Remember, stay as close to the barrels as possible. If you don’t see barrels, assume they are not safe.

Please respect our private landowners and stay on the trail. We have had a couple issues this year already and it always puts our trails in danger.

Use caution at all road crossing as they are icy.

SNO-EAGLES TRAILS OPEN!
Trails Fair to Good

February 6 2019 7:30am – 13 – High 26

WOW!  What a difference a few days can be.  SNOW started later yesterday & this morning there is at least 4 inches of new SNOW east of Eagle River!  More SNOW very late tonight into tomorrow. Weather guys forecasting another big snowfall.  Could be 5-8 inches!  Thanks for DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!

Trails are going to be in terrific shape after grooming.  So this morning & for now rating them Fair to Good.

There were a lot of branches, limbs & trees down from the ice storm, so yesterday a volunteer Sno-Eagles crew was out clearing, cutting & removing.  So as you ride be aware that there still may be downfall in the trails or very low hanging branches.  Along with that there still is a hard icy base under all this new SNOW.  So maybe slow down a bit.

Sno-Eagles Country has 2 areas that have one-way trails.  10E is a one-way trail from the ERRA Sports Arena all the way out to Nicolet Mini Mart.  The other is the 13’s up near Buckatabon Bridge & Bauer’s Dam area.  Clearly marked with DO NOT ENTER signs.  Plus trail signs are backwards if you are going the wrong way.

EAGLE LAKE TRAIL & CATFISH LAKE TRAIL ARE MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the reflective orange barrels.

Thanks for THINKING SNOW!!!

See ya on the trails!

Reporter:SaynerStar Lake Barnstormers

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 8 to 10 inches in the woods

Date of Report: February 5, 2019

Area Report:

We are getting snow currently. We have a couple inches on the ground and it’s still coming down – pretty hard at times. Had we not had this snow begin – I would not have a good report right now. Many riders were reporting overheating conditions due to near solid ice and not enough loose snow. However with this snow, things will rapidly return to very good to excellent. The base will be about as good as it gets – although very icy. At least now there will be snow for lube and cooling. Most trails should also be flat & smooth!!! As always assume any corner you are approaching will be icy.
