EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
All Conditions

St. Patrick’s Day & riding continues.  Took some time for the temps to drop.  Currently it’s SNOWING.  2-3 inches so far.  Forecast is calling for 3-7 more inches for Vilas county. Looks like 3+- more for Eagle River. Higher totals in the northwest part of the county.

It’s late season trails, conditions change fast. New SNOW will help. For the most part trails are Good on average.  Really Very Good condition in the woods. New SNOW will upgrade everything.  Today & tomorrow the temps will be in the 20’s for highs & single digits at night.  Sunday temps pop up again with SNOW Tuesday & Wednesday. It’s late season riding & ya have to ride it when we got. Don’t wait.  Plan to ride this afternoon & tomorrow.  Full report tomorrow on conditions.

No grooming last night. Panning, rolling & grooming should begin again tonight.

With the number of accidents & fatalities this season will keep reminding you:

When you come upon a group of sleds in front of you on the trail.  Passing them can get you in trouble.   Have been seeing this all winter.  When an entire group passes, by the time the last sled passes, a sled could be coming from the other direction.

Remember as you ride & meet a groomer the equipment is NOT able to leave the trail due to it’s weight.  Pull over & stop.  Wait for direction from the driver.  Give ’em a thumbs up.  They groom so we can ride!

Please ride on the right side, slow down, limit alcohol & no off trail riding.

Businesses on the 2 marked lakes, Catfish & Eagle have removed the barrels. Lots of slush & with temps dropping there was concern the barrels would freeze in & be hard to remove.

Take The Pledge, Protect Snowmobiling access for today’s and future snowmobilers (snowmobilerspledge.com)

THINK COLD!!!  Keep DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!

See ya on the trails!   Maybe this year we’ll ride ’til midnight on the 31st!
