SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Very icy conditions
For the most part Fair due to icy conditions

3 below zero this morning on the way up to 28.  Evil sun today. 8 degrees tonight. Rest of the week 20’s during the day & single or below zero at night.  Snow flurries over the next few days.  Sunday 1-3 inches of SNOW forecast by the weather guys.

With the quick drop in temps the trails are very hard & very icy for the most part.  Some woods trails have more loose SNOW.  With that said please slow down. Not just in the corners.  Everywhere.

Evil sun & February are not a good combination.  Sun is out much longer as we get into February.  So bring on the cloudy.

Roads have hard shiny ice with some bare. Crossings have frozen puddles in the morning & water by the afternoon.

Will get you all a more detailed report on SNOW conditions cover tomorrow morning.

Groomer Tracking Systems reports only grooming was rehab work done on 10W/13N aka Wisconsin River Trail in the last 24 hours.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  Reports of sizeable moguls. Please stay by the orange reflective barrels.

THINK COLD & KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!  P.S. No evil sun either!!

Be safe.  See you on the trails!

Trail Report – : Sayner, Wisconsin – February 5, 2020

Reporter:SaynerStar Lake Barnstormers

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 6 to 8 inches (+/-) on the trail

Date of Report: February 5, 2020

Area Report:

We are continuing to groom and our system is mostly in good to excellent condition. There are, however, a few areas where the snow is hard and icy. Riders, in some areas, are experiencing some overheating due to a lack of loose snow. Many corners are  very icy so as always, extreme caution is advised.

Trail 51 remains closed from TIN 344 to 361. It will likely remain closed for the season due to water that is up to 6 feet deep in some areas on the trail. This flooding is due to a new beaver dam that the critters completed recently. Many snowmobiles have had to be rescued that have ignored the trail closed signs.

Please, when crossing marked lakes, stay on the marked crossing. You don’t have to venture far off the path and you could be on ice that is not safe. Please don’t add to the growing list of sleds that have gone in the water this year.

Trail Report – : Price County – Park Falls, Phillips & Prentice, Wisconsin – February 5, 2020

Reporter:Phillips/Park Falls Chambers

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 16-20

Date of Report: February 5, 2020

Area Report:

The Price County Trail system consist of over 500 miles of scenic trails, great places to stop to fill up on fuel, food and beverages. The trails are maintained by 9 clubs and reported by the two Chambers.

We invite you to take a trip and see all that Price County has to offer.

****There is a reroute on Trail 120 that will be in effect all season. The reroute is on the Northern section that eliminates the old 120 trail from FR 519 to the intersection of 120 and 121. Reroute takes you NW up FR519 to Sheep Ranch to FR522 then connects to 101. This eliminates a very bad part of the swamp.****

2/5/2020 Kennan/Catawba Driftsplitters.

Trail 94 has been re-opened and is in very good shape except for the 2 miles of the trail where logging operation continues. All trails are being groomed twice a week and in very good condition.

02/05/2020 Prentice Bushbenders Trail Report

Our trails held up pretty well through the warm weather Sunday. They are icy now making them harder to groom. It will take a few passes and snowmobile traffic to make them great again. They are in overall good condition. Ride safe and have fun.

2/5/2020 Fifield Sno Drovers

The trails conditions in the Pike Lake area are from very good to excellent.   The cold weather has firmed up the slush on the marked lake routes, but there is still slush if you leave the marked trails.  The corridors such as 101/10 get very rough following heavy traffic and, while we have increased our grooming, we need new snow.   There are no bare spots, but expect moguls between grooming runs.  Trail 111/19 to the north is excellent as is trail 121, as these don’t experience the heavy traffic. Trail 106/19 to Iron county is still not being groomed and isn’t recommended as there is flowing water over the county line.

12/5/2020 Northwoods Hi Riders

Above freezing temperatures and a very busy snowmobile week end left the trails with some ruts and bumps. The groomer normally would have went around Solberg Lake on Sunday afternoon, but the temperatures were too high to do an effective grooming job, so we lost one afternoon and evening of grooming this week around Solberg. We are working to catch up and are back on our regular schedule. All in all, the trails are still Good, albeit a little choppy. I was out this morning on 112, 102 and part of 141 and still could move along pretty well.  I expect after we catch up grooming they will be back in Very Good shape before the weekend. The logging operation just north of Solberg park on Trail 112 is completed. The trail/logging road has a few short bare spots but easily rideable. Some blacktop road crossings may be bare. Solberg Lake was slushy and watery on Sunday, but has froze up nicely. There are ruts in some spots, but if you take it easy, it’s fine. Other than that we continue to be in Snowmobile Heaven. Ride Safe, Have Fun.

1/29/2020 Elk River Pioneers

Pioneer trails are now in excellent condition.  They are groomed at least twice per week.  Trail 82 into Sawyer County is now open and in very good condition.  There might be wet areas on some trails.  Do not try to go off of the main trail.  The north entry and exit to Wilson Lake is closed until we get some colder weather.  Use the trail 80 entry and exit on the south west end of Wilson Lake.  There is a logging operation on trail 85.

1/29/2020 Chaparrals

All trails to the east and south of Phillips are in excellent condition.  Be aware of wet areas in the system.  Slow down and stay on the marked trail.  Do not try to go off of the trails as the ground along the sides of most trails is not frozen.  Reminder of the trail reroute on trail 161 along Musser Drive.  All trails are groomed at least twice per week.

1/29/2020 Lugerville Chaser

Our trails are being groomed twice a week and are in good to excellent condition.  A power company is still working on trail 90 there is Utility signs up so use caution

Snow Cover: up to 20 inches

Date of Report: February 5, 2020

Area Report:

All Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails in Zones 1,2,3,&4 are OPEN.

Zone 1 trails remaining closed are as follows: Corridor 19 south of 86 and Corridor 17 west from intersection #65 to intersection #33.

Clubs report the X trail crossing Lake Alexander near Merrill is not signed and is closed.

Most of our trails are in good riding condition except roads and swamps that groomers are not able to get through. The warm weather Sunday softened the trails, but we kept a good base.  Roads are pretty bare.  Groomers have been running daily to smooth out the humps and bumps.

Use caution on water crossings.  Below zero temps last night froze slush and standing water, but it may be rough. Stay close to barrels and poles when crossing water.

We cannot emphasize enough to stay on the marked trails!!

All trails are closed to winter ATV use when the temp is above 28 degrees F.

Be aware of “TRAIL CLOSED” signs, stay on marked trails only and respect private land.

Trail Report – : Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – February 5, 2020

Reporter:boulderwi

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 18-24 inches

Date of Report: February 5, 2020

Area Report:

Trail report for February 5, 2020 – Trails are good. The last few days with an arctic blast of below zero temps and light traffic the trails have stiffened up. Our groomers were out last night and this morning grooming our entire trail system. With the temp reading at 18 below zero this morning the trails are rock hard and should stay smoother for a longer time. We expect cooler temps in the 20’s and teens for the rest of the week, although not the subzero temps we received the last couple of days. There is no snow in the near forecast but expect some snow maybe at the end of the weekend. We could really use some new snow to freshen up our trails. Stay on marked trails! Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.
