Northwoods Hi-Riders

The trails around the Solberg Lake area are in poor riding condition due to the recent warm weather, rain, and heavy snow. There are significant wet spots on 141 just east of Solberg Lake, some of the swamps have opened and will need to be packed down again and freeze up before any grooming can occur. There is no grooming going on currently until we get colder weather. Solberg Lake is very inconsistent and has water and slush in many areas over the original ice. The lake is NOT marked, and it is advised that riders avoid traveling on it. Trails in highland areas are rideable and they are generally better further north. We need a few cold nights to firm things up again so grooming can continue. Stay tuned.

Ashland County Snowmobile Report December 30, 2019
Ashland County trails are reported poor condition and not being groomed at this time.  Be cautious in the swampy areas for standing water.  Please bear with us and STAY ON THE TRAILS.  Be respectful of the farmers land! Stay on trail, as much of the Ashland County snowmobile trail system uses private property and could be lost if the property owners experiences issues. The most common complaints are snowmobiles not staying on trails or going off into fields that are not part of the trail, and loud noise from non-stock muffler systems. Respect the trail system so that it remains open. The Tri-county corridor is open

While the Price County trails are groomed and in great shape, the trail after it crosses to Iron county travels through a swamp that is not frozen enough for them to groom. We had a rider sink in the mud and water, needing help for recovery. Alternative routes should be used.

Prentice Bushbenders Trail Report 12/19/2019
The trails are open but are in rough early season condition. We have only been out with our compactor and have not been able to pan or groom any trails yet due to numerous wet spots. We have been out breaking these spots up trying to get them to freeze down and are gaining on them so hopefully we will be starting grooming operations around Christmas. If you ride please use caution. Merry Christmas from the Prentice Bushbenders.

Trail Report – : Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – December 30, 2019

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 6-12 inches

Date of Report: December 30, 2019

Area Report:

Trail report for December 30, 2019 – Poor to fair. The bad news is that the temps the last couple of days were in the 30’s with rain and lots of traffic degrading our trails rapidly. The good news is that it is snowing right now we are expected to get several inches of snow through today with cooler temps. We will just have to wait to see how much snow we receive. 6” to 9” is expected. Along with cooler temps our groomers will be out grooming to make a better ride for you starting tonight. Be aware that groomers can be out grooming at any time of the day or night grooming. Take all directions from the groomer. Please pray for more snow and subzero temps. Please use extreme caution in all areas! Stay on marked trails! I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year. Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.
