Our trails are in great condition!
With new snow coming this weekend, we should be in tip-top shape.

One of our grooming machines is down, but our volunteers are working diligently to get that fixed.

As always, ride right-ride safe-ride smart, but most of all enjoy the ride!!.

The Frosty Club is excited to announce the arrival of our 2014 tractor/grooomer. Last night was its first trip on the Frosty trails and all went Smoothly!. The entire trail system was groomed last night and bumps are few and far between. Gonna be traffic this weekend so ride accordingly and maybe even more snow to refresh our winter wonderland!!!!! Lac Vieux Desert, Twin, and the Cisco Chain are marked….STAY BY THE BARRELS!

Area Report:

The trails are open and in very good to excellent condition. Keep an eye out for icy spots!

We cannot stress enough to ride safely and responsibly. Trail conditions will vary greatly throughout the County. Always use caution when riding on lakes and frozen water as ice conditions will vary.

The clubs that maintain the Forest County Trail System are made up of volunteers who work very hard to provide the best trails possible. Please respect them while on the trail. When approaching a groomer or member doing trail maintenance, please slow down and move over so they can do their job.

Trail Report – : Spooner and Washburn County, Wisconsin – January 16, 2020

Official Trail Report: All Washburn County Snowmobile Trails are open at this time. Trail conditions are excellent with a 9 to 16 inch base. Local clubs are out grooming trails the best they can! Caution is advised throughout the trail system as some lake ice may still not be safe, always be aware of ice heaves or rough patches. Please note that swamps and wet areas on the trail system are likely to have standing water and/or rough ice crossings in places. Some wet areas will not have been groomed with heavy equipment yet. Please be aware that some trail segments have been rerouted, to avoid wet areas. Bundle up & enjoy!

Groomer Notes:

1/15/20 – Trail 140W – 7A was groomed todays and is in very condition.

1/14/20 – Trail 4-6 was groomed today. All swamps were groomed for the first time. The trails are in very good shape other than part that was groomed for the first time which is still rather bumpy. (Submitted by Rolling Hills Snowmobile & ATV Club)

1/11/20 – Long Lake was staked as of Monday, January 6th with ice depths coming in anywhere from 6″ to 10.5″ on the marked trail. (Off the trail ice depths ranged anywhere from 4″ to 10.5″) The Lake Trail was groomed for the 1st time ever on Wednesday, January 8th. Please note there is a large ice heave that cuts across the trail just North of The Pioneer. As always use caution on ice! Additionally, Spider Lake & Chetac lakes are now also marked. Hello Riders!!

Trail reports are EXCELLENT! Trails have a wonderful base of 12-16” with great snow and groomers have been out and running! We received some fresh powder this week which freshened up the trails for the weekend and continues to add the the lakes. There is still a lot of bare ice on the lakes, good ice but bare in many spots but stick to the staked trail and you will find good snow and traction there. We are in the winter weather storm coming in that can bring 5-10” so that will certainly take care of any bare ice. It is not only great ice but the snow hanging in the trees, the wildlife, it’s all so beautiful and relaxing!

Surrounding counties are all open and in good condition.

It’s great riding in the northwoods so grab your gear and your sleds or call the area you’d like to ride in to rent and get out and enjoy the beauty of the Northwoods and the great food and snacks our local business can’t wait to serve you!

Lincoln County’s funded snowmobile trails (County Administrated Trails) in Zones 1, 3 and 4 are OPEN.

Zone 1 trails remaining closed are as follows: Corridor 19 south of Highway 86, Trail 86 south of Hwy 86 and Corridor 17 south of the Park and Ride at Intersection #30. All other Zone 1 trails are open.

All Zone 2 trails will remain closed for the time being.

Trails are in early season condition and may be rough and icy in some areas.

Winter ATV trails in Zones 3 and 4 will not open until 8:00 AM Thursday Jan. 23, 2020.

All trails are closed to winter ATV use when the temperature is above 28 degrees F.

Be aware of Trail Closed signs, stay on marked trails only and respect private land.

The Oneida County Funded Snowmobile Trail System has officially opened for the 2019-2020 winter season.

Some lakes have been marked. Ride and stay on marked trails ONLY.

Groomers are out where possible.

The following trail closures will be in effect until further notice:

Hodag Sno-Trails (McNaughton Area):

Funded Trail Corridor 12 is closed from TIN247 (Intersection of Trail 12 and 47)

Three Lakes Trails:

Funded Trail Alternate 13 is closed from TIN 122 (Rice Lake Rd) through TIN 022 (intersection north of Burnham Lk)

Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club (Townsend) – 1/15/20 .All the trails from the Nicolet State trail ( the grade ) east of town are in VERY GOOD condition. With the cold weather last night maybe some of the wet spots plaguing all of the Clubs in the State will start to freeze up and make things normal again?

West of 32 heading towards highway 64, the problem areas between intersections 510 & 512 with lack of snow has gotten very icy. So icy that the groomer had to struggle the other night to get up two of the hills because of the icy slopes. The groomer will be going down that way today to see how it grooms out again after receiving a few inches of snow on it. That region is what is called The Bob Kroll trail. It was plowed down to dirt after the big snow by the loggers who cleared the trees for us. Without their efforts it would still be blocked by trees.

Taking that area out of the picture, our trails are in VERY GOOD riding condition.

Paul Bunyan Riders Snowmobile Club (Lakewood) – 1/14/20 The entire system was groomed last night and trail boss Bob Prasser says they are awesome. We have lite snow in the forecast for midweek.

Chute Pond Snowmobile Club (Mountain) – The trail from INT#472 (at Old 64) north to INT#455 (18 Corridor) will re-open tomorrow morning, Thursday, January 16. Please use extra caution in this area as it will not be groomed for a while as we wait for the ice under the snow to develop more. The previous water hole will be icy, so go slow through that area.

Chute Pond Snowmobile Club trails are open, freshly groomed, and in good to very good condition on the NST (RR grade from Suring to INT#605) and all trails west of the NST. The NST is a little thinner from Suring to Breed, but it is rideable, and there is a Park & Ride adjacent to the trail on the north side of Main St (Hwy 32) in Suring. The wooded trails to Boulder Lake, Animal’s, the Mountain Lakes trail to Halfway Bar, and the 18 Corridor west of the NST are all in good to very good condition. The wooded trails east of the NST are in good “early season” condition, which means there will be some bumps, dips, and ruts to deal with as the groomers continue to work on the trails. The 18 Corridor east of the NST is a nice ride all the way to Crooked Lake. On our eastern trails, watch for possible slushy and/or wet/icy/rough frozen areas.

Exceptions (see map): Trails that will remain closed indefinitely are from INT#451-INT#453 (from east of Hwy 32 behind the Junction to Jack Pine Rd), and from INT#447 north to the 18 Corridor trail near Cooked Lake (the northern pipeline trail). DO NOT ride the closed trails- they have not been cleared from the July wind storms because the swamps are still wet and have not allowed equipment to get in to work on those areas yet. The closed areas are tangles of fallen trees in a swampy area- you don’t want to go there.

On our trails east of the NST (RR grade), “early season conditions”

Be aware that any off-trail riding- even to take one ski off to “grab a little loose snow”- could be dangerous. The July wind storms have devastated many areas of our forested trails, and there are many trees and limbs on the ground just off the edges of the groomed trails. Please stay safe- stay on the groomed trails. Riders are urged to reduce speed and ride with extra caution, as the forest and the trails look very different since the storm. There are numerous logging operations that will be ongoing throughout the season. Please use extra caution in these areas. No Chute Pond trails cross any lakes or rivers- and ice has been slow to form on most area lakes. Use extreme caution on all frozen surfaces. You are encouraged to carry a portable hand saw if possible, since limbs and branches continue to fall onto and over the trails. Please- ride sober, stay to the right, and stay on the marked trails.

Bagley & Brazeau Joyriders – We will be opening the trails north of 64 Hwy Friday, December 10th at 12:00 PM but will not be groomed for the weekend.

Gillett Sno ATV Riders – Opening on Saturday, January 18th at 8:00am. This will include just the rail road grade from Shawano Line Road to Suring. The grade has 304 inches of packed snow on it and all the water spots we were fighting earlier this season froze up.

Oconto Falls Sno-Jokers – CLOSED.

Lena Sno-Drifters – CLOSED.

Chase Sno-Chasers – CLOSED.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Good

Plenty of new SNOW on tap. 3 inches plus of SNOW yesterday into last night. More SNOW off & on today. Friday night into Saturday new SNOW of 4-7 inches forecast. Stay tuned for totals. Single digits tonight. Friday & Saturday temps will pop up into the 20’s bringing the SNOW. Then back down to the teens daytime & single digits above & below zero at night. Plenty of traffic on the trails. After grooming & the new SNOW trails will move to Very Good. Fantastic riding ahead!!

Today is the Sno-Eagles Thursday Guided Ride. Meet at 9am at trail 10/13 by the historic railroad depot & brand new snow sculpture snowmobile! Across from Friendship House.

Catfish & Eagle Lake Trails are MARKED & OPEN. Stay by the Orange Reflective Barrels. Thank you to the business volunteers that marked the trails!

Groomer Tracking System shows no grooming in the last 24 hours.

Caution Areas

In general found trails sections in swamps have rough areas. The snowfalls should improve this.

All Clark County snowmobile trails are OPEN effective Friday January 17, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., except for the following: Loyal “Y” trail between intersection 66 and 67 and Greenwood “GG” from intersection 27 to the Oak Ridge Parking Lot. NGTI trails are currently rated in Good condition. Be aware riding on closed trails is trespassing and fines apply, not to mention it could cause long term trail closures!

The Price County Trail system consist of over 500 miles of scenic trails, great places to stop to fill up on fuel, food and beverages. The trails are maintained by 9 clubs and reported by the two Chambers.

****There is a reroute on Trail 120 that will be in effect all season. The reroute is on the Northern section that eliminates the old 120 trail from FR 519 to the intersection of 120 and 121. Reroute takes you NW up FR519 to Sheep Ranch to FR522 then connects to 101. This eliminates a very bad part of the swamp.****

trails are all being groomed twice a week and are in very good condition. There is an on going logging operation an trail 94 about 2 miles north of intersection 99. Ride Safe and stay on the marked trails.

Northwoods Hi-Riders 01/15/2020
Trails around Solberg Lake area are in Good to Excellent condition. We are now on a regular grooming schedule, however there are 2 sections of trail on 121 that still need to be groomed, but are very rideable. We expect they will be groomed this week. Continue to look for hanging branches in the trail, it’s OK to stop and get them out of the way if you can. We would really appreciate that. Logging operations continue on trail 112 and 121 north to Hick’s Landing Rd. Solberg Lake is marked. Please stay on the marked trail. Roll In Point is no longer open, so there is a reroute that is marked on the lake, look for the signing on the lake. Reminder, the Northwoods Hi-Riders are having a Radar Run, Brat Feed, and Vintage Snowmobile show this weekend, 1/18/20, at Polish Palace/Sunset Bay Resort on Solberg Lake. Trails are marked to that location. Have Fun, Stay Safe.
Prentice Bushbenders Trail Report 01/14/2020
We are on a full grooming schedule now and all groomed trails are in great condition. We were able to get through 3 areas with the groomer this week that have been avoided because they weren’t frozen including the trails leading to Timms Hill. There is a swamp just to the East of the 101 intersection on trail 181 that still hasn’t froze enough to get through but other clubs have helped us and groomed from the other directions to the intersection. Trail 120 North of Windy Lane remains ungroomed because of 2 wet areas. These areas are passable by snowmobile but not with the groomer. Ride safe and have fun.
We are seeing more and more people riding off of the trails. Our club members are all volunteers and work very hard to provide the best trails to ride on. Please stay on the trails as getting kicked of will result in riding roads in most cases.

1/12/20 Trails 80 89 90 91 and the Tuscobia were groomed and are in great shape and all of our swamps are being groomed now. Please ride safely and enjoy the trails.

trails are all being groomer and in good shape trail 94 has been opened and will be groomed 1-9. Logging operation continue on 94 about 2 miles north of intersection 100. We will be grooming all trails twice a week.

Groomed 111 Case Ave. thru Damrow swamp to Highway 13 to trail 80 Then 80 to white rock road and turn around on Davis was real bad all ice good now. Then to 101 out to trail 103 103 to sugar bush fire lane , back to 104 groomed wintergreen lake area then 1010 back to Fifield and 80 up to Park Falls
NOTE:
Opened gates on Martinson’s swamp from Sugar Bush Fire lane to highway 70 park area froze good for snow mobiles
Please pack the swamp wide don’t tail gate spread out pack it so we can get the groomer thru next week TY from the Bush Wackers The other side 111 being done tomorrow morning
Fifield Sno Drovers
All the trails in the Pike Lake area are in great shape with the exception of areas we’re not grooming yet due to water under the snow/ice. These areas are passible via snowmobile but may be a bit rough. This is the stretch of trail 101/10 from where it turns off the long straight-a-way leading to Northernaire/144 to the bridge at Fould’s creek. The trail 106/19 leading to Iron County remains closed until we get word that the Iron County club has been able to open their trail. We understand trail 101/10 is closed just east of Sugarbush Road due to open water in the swamp. The HOPE to reopen it on Thursday, 1/9 given the colder weather. The lakes are still not marked at this point due to slush and questionable ice conditions. While we’re hoping this cold snap improves the condition and we mark them soon, the best option is to stay off them until we’ve determined it is safe and mark them.

Lugerville Chasers 1/7/2020
Our trails are being groomed twice a week and are in good to excellent condition. We have a few bad spots that you need to take caution. First area is on Trail 80 going east and west. There are open water areas. We are hoping with cold temps that we can address these two areas. Good news is that you are able to sneak around both areas. Second area is on trail 90. Power company is updating power line poles so please drive slow in case they are on the trail.

We have started grooming operations again and hope to have all trails that we can get to done by Wednesday night. The trails that have been groomed are in great condition. Areas that cannot be groomed yet because the swamps/creeks have not yet frozen down enough to get the groomer through are as follows; Trails 181 and 102 West and North of intersection 108. Trail 116 between County Road K and intersection 97a. Trail 120 North of Windy Lane. Trail 120 South of intersection 108 to the first gate. Trail 189 between Trail 102 (the Pine Line trail) and the Prentice Ogema Road. All trails are passable by snowmobile but the worst area are the 2 creeks North of Windy Lane. We are working on these areas daily and hope to be able to groom them within a week. Please ride safe and have fun.
