Area Report:

TRAFFIC was the name of the weekend. i did not know that Martin Luther King was a snowmobiler but people were out in Huge numbers. Saturday morning trails were great but by mid after noon the combination of fresh snow and traffic made for some pretty beat up trails. Sunday morning things were back and now everyone left and you can enjoy GREAT riding and not packed restaurants, gas stations, and bars. ALL Frosty Trails are freshly groomed and in VERY GOOD to EXCELLENT condition. The new groomer looks like a keeper and is doing a great job!

Trail Report – : Boulder Junction, Wisconsin – January 20, 2020

Reporter:boulderwi

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 18-24 inches

Date of Report: January 20, 2020

Area Report:

Trail report for January 20, 2020 – Trails are very Good. This morning the little bit of lake effect of snow we got is ending. The temps are expected to be in the 20’s for highs today. More snow is expected in the middle of this week. Over the weekend we experienced very high volumes of traffic but had our groomers out doing the best to make your ride more enjoyable. With the added amounts of snow we received we were able to lay out a nice flat trail but without the subzero temps the trails remain soft and can create bumps very quickly. Some corners are starting to become bare and icy. I would like to thank everyone that worked and supported our breakfast fundraiser at the Aqualand Ale House yesterday. It was a great time had by all!  Please use extreme caution in all areas! Stay on marked trails! Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Area Report:

Trails are in great conditions.  We picked up another couple inches of lake effect snow last night.  Still receiving some snow showers today.  With a great base and now fresh powder for cooling and for slide rails, its a great time to ride.  The next few days has highs in the upper teens.  Temps are expected to rise as the week goes on to upper 20’s to low 30’s.  More snow in the forecast later in the week.  Grooming was done last night.  All detours are gone.  The only area not groomed is on trail 6 east of Phelps due to soft soil condition that can’t quite yet support the groomer.  Hopefully soon. Trail Report – : Sayner, Wisconsin – January 18, 2020

Reporter:SaynerStar Lake Barnstormers

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 10+/- inches on the trail

Date of Report: January 18, 2020

Area Report:

Our trails continue to be in excellent conditions at the start of each day. We do have very heavy traffic this weekend and it steadily takes a toll on conditions as the day goes on. But we will be out again each night to smooth things over again!!!

More good news: Plum and Star Lakes are marked. Also – Lost Lake has been marked. As always: DO NOT cross any lake that is NOT marked. Especially this year, when crossing a marked lake: STAY BY THE MARKERS!!! Venturing out onto unmarked parts of any lake is beyond dangerous due to uneven ice making conditions this season.
