Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 18-24 inches

Date of Report: February 21, 2020

Area Report:

Trail report for February 21, 2020 – Trails are good to very good. The Groomers were out last night, and this morning and the trails turned out very nice. With the lack of snow on the trail there is not a lot of snow to work with to lay out a nice flat trail but with the cold weather the trails have gotten stiff and hard. We are expecting a warmup over the weekend and the trails could get very soft. Along with the increase in traffic this could make the trails get bumpy very quickly. The groomers will be out doing the best they can to make your ride more enjoyable. The corners and other areas can be icy so use caution. Stay on marked trails! Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

The Langlade County snowmobile trail system (Zones A & B) is open with restrictions as of 8 a.m Thursday, January 2, 2020.

SNOWMOBILE TRAILS IN EAGLE RIVER
Good to Very Good

3 degrees as I write this morning.  Heading up to a high of 35 today & 15 tonight.  Evil sun will also be out.  This warm up will continue through the weekend.

                       Trail 10E afternoon 2-20-20   Trail 70W afternoon 2-20-2020 near   Trail alt13 aka 3 heading south 2-20-2020 afternoon

The photos above were taken later yesterday afternoon.  Left photo is Trail 10E northside.  Middle photos is Trail 70W section behind the Super 8.  Right photo is Trail Alt13 aka 3 heading south out of Eagle River.  Check  back in the morning for photos I’ll be taking today.

Groomer Tracking Systems (GTS Trails) reports in the last 24 hours most of the Eagle River trails were groomed.  So here are the trails not groomed

  • Trail 70W heading west & connects to St. Germain trails
  • Trail 17S/13S/7 heading south from the intersection with 70W to the Sugar Camp connect. Trail along Hwy 17S
  • Trail 7 aka the Paintball Field which heads west to the Kathan Inn area along Hwy H
  • Trig’s Shell section of the City trail to Bloom Rd
  • Uncle Kent’s trail
  • Trail 1 that turns off 10E next to Dollar Lk Rd on it way to Eagle Lake trail

Riding in the area found GOOD to VERY GOOD conditions with areas of EXCELLENT.  Trail 10E & the 13’s in the Buckatabon/Bauer’s Dam area are 2 EXCELLENT trails. No problem areas to report at all as of yesterday.  Today temps are coming up so conditions will change.  At this point no trail burn throughs at all. Stay tuned.

Catfish & Eagle Lake trails are marked.  Conditions on both lakes may produce surface slush with temps up & sun out.  Remember not all lakes are safe.  Check maps & looks for markers.  If you don’t see any the lake is not safe. P.S. There is a 55mph nighttime speed limit.

It’s Friday & traffic will pick up. Be sure to stay on the right side when riding. Straight aways, corner & hills.

KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!!!

See ya on the trails this weekend!
