Area Report:

Snowmobile trail report for March 6, 2020 – Trails are in GOOD condition. We went out yesterday to inspect our trails by snowmobile and with the approximately 4 inches of heavy wet snow we received most of our trail system is very flat with a very hard base. With the very little amount of traffic and the added amounts of snow it really made it an enjoyable ride. It may not last very long because we are expected to have some warm weather the next few days and our trails could degrade very quickly. My advice is to get out there and ride while the conditions are this good. Please stay on marked trails. The corners and other areas are getting bare and very icy. Road routes and road crossings can be bare. Please use caution! Please join us at our annual Cabin Fever Party this Saturday March 7th at the Boulder Beer Bar from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Lots of fun will be had by everyone!  Remember to be safe, ride right, and enjoy the ride.

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: over 12″ on the trail

Date of Report: March 5, 2020

Area Report:

We received just over 3″ of snow today.  This should helps freshen up the trails.  All the Phelps trails were groomed last night before the snow came.  Trails are in great late season condition.  Tomorrow should be a great day to ride with temps in the low to mid 30’s.  A warm up this weekend may do some damage to the conditions with highs in the upper 40’s to low 50’s. Make plans to get your rides in before spring takes over.  Have a safe and enjoyable ride.  Watch the corners they are icy.

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 8-12

Date of Report: March 5, 2020

Area Report:

Trails in the woods are still holding up, but trails along roads or exposed to lots of sun are starting to show bare spots. According to the groomers, there is still plenty of good riding out there. We are currently getting a bit of fresh snow so we will see if that can pad the base a bit.

Namakagon: Trails in our area are in very good condition. Some road crossings and parking lots are bare. All trails will be groomed by Friday.

Barnes Barnestormers: Trail 31 North from Mulligan Creek Road to Trail 24 Iron River is groomed and in good condition. 31 South of Mulligan Creek Road is in good condition except the logging areas are bare. The town trails were groomed Wednesday and are in fair condition, some road routes will be bare. Riding should be good until Saturdays warm-up.

Drummond SnoJacks: All trails have been groomed this week and are in very good condition. Coverage on forest trails remains excellent but road route north of the Drummond Connector is spotty after the warm temperatures earlier this week. This makes it important to remind riders stay on trails.

White River Ramblers (Iron River Area): All trails in Iron River area will be groomed by Thursday night. Some road route portions are bare

Washburn Valhallers: Trail #13 South from Washburn to the Tri-County Corridor has a few bare spots and there is a little bit of water showing in the field crossings….however, through this weekend, the trail should remain rideable.

Trail #13 North from Washburn to Valhalla remains in good shape.  Road crossings are of course bare but there is still a lot of snow in the Valhalla area.  It should still be a decent weekend of riding – other than the predicted 40+ degrees.

South Shore (Port Wing, Herbster, Cornucopia): Trails 1, 40 & 41 got groomed on Tuesday. Trail 1 into Port Wing Wednesday night and 1 to Cony this morning. All are good! Road routes are getting bare and need some snow
