We are getting snow – so don’t cancel those reservations! The North Shore of Lake Gogebic has received about 6-8” over the last day, looking to get another 8-12” by Sunday and similar or more amounts next week. LES would be amazing!
Groomers are currently reporting blizzard conditions and early season riding at best. Use extreme caution. Reported ice heave south on the West shore of Lake Gogebic about 1/2 way down.. Yesterday 1 South was signed, brushed and set and on Sunday groomers intend to roll and set 1 North to White Pine and 1 South to Marenisco. Also plan to pan 13 South and 8 East.
Thank you to all who are rooting for us – we appreciate it very much and look forward to welcoming you back to the Lake Gogebic Area very soon! Think snow!

As of noon 12pm 1/12/2024 Walworth County Snowmobile trails are open. Please ride with caution in this snow as some trees are sagging from weight of snow. We had groomers out panning all night last night and today. It continues to snow heavily. Enjoy!

Snowmobile Report – January 11, 2024
Even though we have received snow it’s not enough to open the Ashland County Snowmobile Trails. We still have alot of wet spots out there that still need to freeze. Be patience more snow is on its way!
Snowmobile Information:
Please stay on the trail. A lot of Ashland County snowmobile trails are on farmers land, please be respectful so we don’t lose our easement to their property. Snowmobiles may not be modified, or operated, to amplify or otherwise increase the total vehicle noise above the originally manufactured snowmobile noise level.

The trails are awesome! Well……………if you feel like just going out and walking around.
If you want to snowmobile, not so much.
We have gone out and done some panning of the little snow we have. This helps to fill the ruts and to create a flatter base that will freeze to make for a better trail system once the snow does arrive.
There is more snow forecast for this coming weekend, but according to the National Weather Service, it’s only going to produce 2-4″ additional inches in this area. Folks, we need an 8″ dumping of wet snow in order to have something decent to work with. And, when that happens, please don’t think we can open trails the next day! The clubs will need a couple days to get things ready.
FYI, Vilas county has 11 snowmobile clubs. In order for the trails to open, all 11 clubs have to be ready to open at the same time. So, even if we had ours ready, we can’t open until everyone is ready. We’ll keep you posted.
In the meantime, you can still come up and enjoy the area. There is so much to do here, even if you can’t ride. We have incredible businesses that are open and ready to serve!
