One Reroute:   starting 1/18 due to logging operations: Trail 11 to Iron County will be detoured. You need to follow Nigh Rein Rd to Camp E Rd to reconnect at Bear Track Rd!

Reminder everyone that the Ashland Waterfront Trail is not open to motorized vehicles, including snowmobiles and ATVs. Anyone caught riding on the Ashland Waterfront Trail will be ticketed.

When snowmobiling please stay on the trail.  A lot of Ashland County snowmobile trails are on farmers land, be respectful so we don’t lose our easement to their property.

Trail Report – : Conover, Wisconsin – January 15, 2026

Reporter:snobuddies

Trail Conditions: Excellent

Snow Cover: 8-10”

Date of Report: January 15, 2026

Area Report:

Groomed on Wednesday night, the trails were in very good shape. The grooming crew on Tuesday night waited till late to go out once the temperatures dropped. This proved to be an excellent move, all I needed to do was tickle the trails. The grooming crew is back at it Thursday night.

We have been lucky that the warmer days have hit us during the week, with colder temps returning for the weekends..

Forecast is calling for 3-5” of fresh snow from now till Saturday.

Actually got to go for a ride today finally. All the trails we were on were in great shape. We rode from Conover to St Germain, down to Sugar Camp and back through northwest Eagle River back to Conover.

Watch out for the large ice heave on North Twin Lake. It is marked with signs, barrels, and green flashing beacons. Please slow down and cross next to the barrels.

Trail Report – : Bayfield County, Wisconsin – January 15, 2026

Reporter:BayfieldCounty

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 4-6

Date of Report: January 15, 2026

Area Report:

We had pretty warm temps and even some rain earlier this week. Overall, trails are still in good condition with some icy spots. Some much needed snow is predicted for Friday/Saturday.

All trails are now open in Bayfield County! BUT this could change at any time so if you do come across a trail closed sign, DO NOT go around it. It is closed for a reason.

Reroute – small reroute on trail 51 near intersection of 31 due to a logging in the area. Reroute is signed.

Stay safe, ride right and ride sober!

Barnestormers – no report

Corny Sno-Goers – no report

Drummond Dirt-Sno Jacks – All trails are in excellent condition despite the warm up. Grooming operations will continue with the colder temps. Ride with caution on roads as they are ice covered.

Namakagon Trail Groomers – All NTG trails have been groomed. We will continue to groom as weather permits. We have been holding off on warm days to not stir it up and loose the great base we have.

Trail 15 / 90 from Pioneer bar to Lake Namakagon has limited grooming since the bridge has been inspected and restricted by weight so our groomer cannot go over it. It will be rough. We are doing our best to keep it as smooth as possible.

Northern Adventures – Well we groomed 31 north and 3 north. 22 and 24 also. 31 south and corridor tomorrow. Trail4 on Friday. We took a few days off of grooming due to the warm weather.

South Shore Trails Club – Trail 1 west is being groomed today, trail 1 east was groomed Monday and will be groomed again this Friday. Trail 40, 43, 66, and trail 3 will be groomed Thursday. All trails remain in good shape with icy corners, snow is expected in our area Thursday and Friday for 3 to 6 inches.

Waino – Trail 1 west of Port Wing to Brule was groomed yesterday and in great shape.

Washburn Valhellers – We are grooming all our trails as weather allows without destroying the good base we have. We are mostly top dressing and panning to hold base until colder weather when we can groom more aggressively and smooth and fill better. The only exception right now is we are not grooming trail 13 between Ashland and Washburn due to lack of snow close to the lake. It is rideable with some bare spots. Washburn to Valhalla is being groomed 1/15 well as the Valhalla trail system. 31 ,33, 63 are being groomed 1/14. Hope we get some snow later this week.

Trail Report – : Spooner and Washburn County, Wisconsin – January 15, 2026

Reporter:Washburn County

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 6 – 8″ Groomed & Packed

Date of Report: January 15, 2026

Area Report:

With some of the neighboring southern counties closing their snowmobile trails, we will remain open for time being.

At this time ALL Trails in Washburn County are now officially open. With the recent snow accumulations trails are now packed and groomed and now have a sustainable trail base.  Additional snow accumulations have helped the trails out tremendously and grooming reports have been coming in with positive feedback. We have lost some snow with the recent rain and abnormally warm weather, but trails are still in decent shape. All trails across the County are fair in condition.  Remember that grooming and maintenance activities continue throughout the season. Use caution while riding, watch for trail equipment, and enjoy the trails responsibly.  If you encounter any trail issues such as downed trees, limbs, or debris, please report them to Washburn County Forestry at 715-635-4490.

Please be advised that on 1/1/2026 there was an incident on Long Lake, off of the boat landing on Blackhawk Road. The ice conditions at this time are very poor and a snowmobile broke through the ice at this location while out riding. At this time no trail route is marked out on Long Lake. The County does not have jurisdiction on Long Lake and is not responsible for marking out a trail across the lake, even though certain sections of Washburn County Snowmobile trails lead to accessing Long Lake, Washburn County Forestry does not maintain anything past the high ground point. Please use caution if you are out on any lake as they are not yet 100% safe
