February 5, 2022 6:35am – 12 below zero – High of 15 today – Low 10

SNOW moving in from the west today around noon with an increase of wind.  Weather guys say SNOW from noon to 9pm.  Bringing 2+ inches.  Sure hope it’s more.

As for trail conditions they are all over the place.  In town is really showing wear. Out of town north which has the most woods trails is actually GOOD to FAIR.  Heading east there are one way trails.  The trails that are on the northside of Hwy 70E (Trail 10E heading back to town) have lots of snirt sections & burn throughs.  Open areas where the evil sun got at ’em are Poor to Fair(south & west).  All in all trails need SNOW.

The Groomer Tracking System AP (GTS) shows grooms left the Groomer Barn along Hwy 45N near the Snowmobile Derby Track last night & did NEARLY a FULL GROOMING session with the exception of:

North

  • Trail 17N from Trail 10/13 heading northwest across Hwy 45N to Trail 3N aka Manske Swamp – NOT GROOMED
  • Trail 1 from Trail 17N to the entrance to Eagle Lake boat launch & lake crossing – NOT GROOMED

East

  • Heading east on Trail 10E the spurs are NOT GROOMED – These are Chanticleer to Eagle Lake; Granpa Grahm trail to Eagle Waters – NOT GROOMED

Catfish & Eagle lake trails marked & OPEN.  To be safe stay by the orange reflective barrels.  DO NOT think the entire lake is safe.  Several sleds have gone in the water far from the barrels.

Please KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!  Let’s hope the weather guys are right!!

See ya on the trails!

Boulder Junction Snowmobile Club Trail Report – Friday, 2/4/22:

It’s -4 degrees out this morning with light snow falling. Last night, we groomed 2W, 8W, 51, 15N, and 6E. Early this morning, we groomed 15S, 11, and 8E. Even without any significant snow in awhile, our trails are in good to very good condition. Our club ride was to Land O’ Lakes Wednesday and the only marginal areas were the snowmobile road routes which really need some new snow right now.

Enjoy our trails, be safe, and check for an updated report on Monday, 2/7/22.

Trail Report – : Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin – February 4, 2022

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: lightly snowing

Date of Report: February 4, 2022

Area Report:

I have been lucky enough to ride the past 2 days. Most trails are in good to excellent shape. Where there is a lot of traffic the snow is getting snirty but still decent. road routes need some snow on them…the snowplow drivers must be bored as they are scraped down. A little snow the next few days in the forecast will be welcomed but all in all we are lucky to Ride the Top trails at the Top of Wisconsin. A little cold in the morning but a pretty good forecast for riding.

News and Reports:

Frosty Club will be serving free hot cocoa  and a bonfire at the 3 Bear Sled dog Races Saturday. Look for Queen Charlene by the airport.

Bent’s Camp will be holding the Radar Run Saturday of President’s Day Weekend. This is a big fundraiser for the Frosty Club. Runs start at 11 and bikini run just after 3. Raffles, food, music, and FUN!

Conditions Change Quickly

February 4, 2022 – 7:46am 6 below zero – High of 11 today – 9 below tonight

Waiting for SNOW to move in late Friday into Saturday.  Looks like SNOW off & on Saturday.  2 plus inches. Trails could use more…Start Dancin! Trails conditions are all over the place & change quickly.  Icy corners & even straightaways. Open areas have burn through areas along with trails that are on the northside of a road.  Even in February that sun is warm.

The Groomer Tracking System AP (GTS) shows grooms left the Groomer Barn along Hwy 45N near the Snowmobile Derby Track last night & did a FULL GROOMING session with the exception of a short club trail called Uncle Kent’s which starts along Hwy G north of town & connects to trail 10W.

Best riding until SNOW moves in is north & woods trails.  When you meet a groomer move over & stop to let them by.

Catfish & Eagle lake trails marked & OPEN.  To be safe stay by the orange reflective barrels.  DO NOT think the entire lake is safe.  Several sleds have gone in the water far from the barrels.

Please KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!  Trails Need More Fresh SNOW

See ya on the trails!

Trail Report – : Three Lakes – Brule River, Wisconsin – February 4, 2022

Reporter:Threelakeswi

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 6-8”

Date of Report: February 4, 2022

Area Report:

The Three Lakes Brule River Trails system is in pretty good condition. We need snow, but with the cold weather we have not lost much. You may find a few snirty areas closer to town, but when you get out in the woods, they are really nice. Watch your corners, they are icy. We are on a regular grooming schedule. All of our system is currently open and in very good condition. Lakes are now marked. Stay close to the barrels for safe ice. Please stay on the trail and between the markers. Please remember to drop a few dollars in our donation boxes at your favorite trail stop. Every little bit helps.

Trail Report – : Iron County, Michigan – February 3, 2022

Reporter:Colleen

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 12-18 inches

Date of Report: February 3, 2022

Area Report:

Trails are snow packed and holding up good… a little fresh snow would be nice.. but even so the trails are in good shape and snow packed.  There is some ice on the corners.. so do slow down around those curves and corners.  Groomers are out every day… so the trails are flat and smooth.. just the way we like them.

Trail #2, Trail #107, Trail #15 N, Trail #116, Trail #113, Trail #18 are all in good condition

Trail #15 S – fair condition    Trail #111 – where there is road riding on this trail.. it is in need of new snow cover

Trail #16 – watch for logging between the junction of #116 and Crystal Falls.

Can you believe we are already in February… usually February is the best riding month we have.. normally a little warmer temps mean a little more fresh snowfall every other day or so.  We’ll see how February pans out this year.

Restaurants and bars remain open this season.. so lots of stops along the way to grab a bite to eat and warm up a bit.  Happy Sledding to all our fellow snowmobilers.. be courteous when out there riding and give the groomer operators a THUMBS UP when you pass them on the trail. A “Thank You” can go a LONG way!!!  😉

Happy Trails!!
