Sno-Eagles
EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
OPEN
On average FAIR

New SNOW totals in Sno-Eagles Country, Eagle River are from 4 to 6 inches.  Somewhat wetter SNOW overnight on Friday but still fluffy.  SNOW continued into Saturday most of the day with a combination of “real SNOW” & Lake Effect.  As for temps.  COLD at night with below zero nights until Thursday.  Highs in single digits with a jump to 13 on Wednesday.  SNOW is not going anywhere.

The dryness of the fluffy SNOW & the number of riders out on the trails makes grooming hard for the drivers.  Lays down smooth but with so many riders it doesn’t have time to set up.  Back to moguls pretty quick. Trails are still very icy underneath.  Slow down to be safe!

GTS Groomer app photo shows the following trails groomed(right click on photo to enlarge:

  • Trail 10W/13N from the groomer barn along Hwy 45N all the way to the connect with Conover Sno-Buddies – thin & soft conditions
  • Trail 10W/13N Wisconsin River section – rough on both sides of the approaches.  Ice solid
  • Trail 10W/7 to the connect with St. Germain BoBoen & Sayner Barnstormers trails – snow covered
  • Trail 13N to the connect with Conover Sno-Buddies trails near trail 45N of Conovers trails
  • Trail 3 all the way to the reconnect with Trails 10E/13N – this a re route
  • Trail 17N  groomed to connect with the Phelps Snowmobile Club trails
  • Trail 1 off of Trail 17N all the way to Eagle Lake
  • Trail 10W/13S(alt) to the intersection of Trail 13S/70W
  • TRAILS IN ORANGE OR BLUE WERE NOT GROOMED OVER NIGHT

NOTE: Trail 10E out of Eagle River becomes a one way from the ERRA SPORTS ARENA all the way to Mikes Gas Station.  It runs alone Hwy 70E.  The south side of the trail is ONE WAY going EAST only.  The north side of the trail is ONE WAY going WEST (back to Eagle River). Intersections are clearly marked with ONE WAY trail signs & DO NOT ENTER signs.  Very dangerous to go the wrong way.

Catfish Lake & Eagle Lake Trails are marked with orange reflective barrels.  Stay by the barrels as there is no guarantee the rest of the lakes are safe. They have icy spots so please slow down.  Lots of lakes have ice heaves so be safe & stay by the barrels wherever you ride.

Time to Ride!!!! See ya on the trails!

Area Report:

Trails have been upgraded from early season to fair, good on alot of trails also. Last night we had 4-5 inches of the dry snow, we wanted the wet stuff but will take it. Very cold temps coming this week so trails will pack nice. Lakes are marked and 2 foot of ice.

Trail Report – : Conover, Wisconsin – February 15, 2025

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 8-10”

Date of Report: February 15, 2025

Area Report:

We groomed last night with the fresh snow we got yesterday and into Saturday. It is dry and fluffy. Trails I hit smoothed out, but when I returned and a group of 6 sleds or more went on what I groomed, it was moguls again. Between the amount of sleds out, dry snow, and temps not cold enough to freeze the trail in before they got there, not much we could do. We will be back at it later tonight.

Im going to say the trails are fair due to the fluffy snow, I’m sure some are moguls already this morning.

News and Reports:

Trail 12 from the RR grade TIN 732 to County K TIN 731 has ruts from ATVs. There isn’t enough snow to fill the ruts, but it is getting better. We put signs at each end of the trail for Caution Next 1 mile and Rough Trail. Use caution when traveling this area.

The Cemetery Trail from TIN 724 to TIN 725, and south to TIN 727 at Church Rd is thin for snow cover. You will find a few bare spots, There is a hill between TIN 725 and TIN 726 at Lindberg Rd that was bare from sleds going up it. The swamp area did freeze up, so it is good to go.

Snowmobile Information:

Well, shave my possum, it’s Saturday. (I heard that on the Tom Petty channel yesterday) OK, so we had about 4″ of snow last night, Friday. We have a group up for the weekend, and Jeff and Kim had to head down the grade through the Powell Marsh yesterday, and they said it was not as rough as it has been. Watch 17, the corners in the Raven, and the open areas on “F” trail. Also trail 1 between trail 51 and East Boundary had icey corners last night. East Boundary and Stearns Lake Rd were pretty good last night. This snow has some sustenance to it, so I am hoping it sticks and today’s conditions improve as we stand to have a boatload of traffic. I will report after the weekend, and whether or not conditions warrant groomer Mike and I going out Sunday. Hornshoe trails were groomed last night, and we will be out again tonight. A shout out to Lulich Equipment in Mason for giving us a great lease rate on a tractor to keep a smile on the trails. Today, Saturday, team Hornshoe is womping up some vittles on the trail on the corner of trail 17, and Mattke Rd. Brats, burgers, weenies, and some amazing chili. Stop out and see some of the people that keep our club running. Be safe and have fun! Mark
