EAGLE RIVER TRAILS
OPEN
Good to Fair Condition

Heading into a warm up.  Right now trails are Good to Fair & grooming continues.  With a warm up conditions will change quickly.  So get out & ride now!  Trails that run on the northside of road breakdown first keep that in mind when you ride.  As always woods riding is the best.  Road routes are for the most right ice covered on the edges & right of ways on the roads in most place still have hard snow.  Adventure Sledding time!

GTS groomer app shows as of 5:41am the following trails were groom.  Right click on the photo to enlarge.

  • Trail 10W/13N from the groomer barn along Hwy 45N all the way north to the connect with the Conover Sno-Buddies trails
  • Trail 10W/13N aka Wisconsin River Bridge section heading west to the 10W/13N intersection on the west side of bridge – rough approaches on both sides.  Hard ice area that are slippery
  • Trail 10W west side of the bridge (which is a left turn) all the way out to the connect with St. Germain BoBoen & Sayner Barnstormers trails
  • Club Trail that heads south at the Boot Lake/West Rd intersection & runs to Hwy G – Locals call the “Uncle Kent” trail
  • Trail 3N/17N to 3/17 intersection – Heading north on 3 – This is a new trail & has had washboard which is improving.  Thin snow
  • Trail 10/13 heading south from the groomer barn to the intersection behind the Dairy Queen.  Right past the Ice Castle
  • Trail 13/70/7 heading west – 70 connects to St. Germain BoBoen trails & was groomed – 13/7 heads south just beyond Parson Motors west of Eagle River. Both groomed to the Sugar Camp connect. 13 runs south to Ripco Rd. 7 splits off & comes out on Cty Hwy H.

Eagle Lake & Catfish Lake crossing are safe only by the orange reflective barrels.  No surface slush as of this morning.  That may change with the warm up.

We got snow right now!  Ride when got it.  See ya on the trails!

Trail Report – : Bayfield County, Wisconsin – February 20, 2025

Reporter:BayfieldCounty

Trail Conditions: Good

Snow Cover: 8-12

Date of Report: February 20, 2025

Area Report:

We received 8-12 inches of powdery snow throughout the county last weekend. Trails conditions are the best we’ve seen so far this year. Forecasted highs in the upper 30’s and low 40’s over the next 7 days will limit the ability for the groomers to get out. If riding on the trails during this time, please ride with care/caution.

Dual use trails: we ask that AVT/UTV’s do not travel on groomed trails when the temps are around or above freezing. Ruts left in the trail in these low snow conditions will be near impossible to remove. Please use good judgment when out riding your ATV/UTV in these conditions.

Club Reports

Apostle Island – Trails in the Valhalla, Bayfield, Cornucopia area are in excellent shape. Trail 1 going into Cornucopia is a little rough because of low snow.  With a warmup this weekend trails may get a little bumpy.

Barnestormers – Barnes area trails have a good base, are groomed and in great shape

Corny Sno-Goers – Trails in the Valhalla, Bayfield, Cornucopia area are in excellent shape. Trail 1 going into Cornucopia is a little rough because of low snow.  With a warmup this weekend trails may get a little bumpy.

Drummond Dirt-Sno Jacks – Drummond trails remain in fair condition, with the exception of trail 63 North of Drummond within Grandview township which is poor due to lack of snow.

Namakagon Trail Groomers – NTG has been grooming the entire trail system daily. The last snow helped a lot, but it still was a very dry snow. The dry snow does not pack, so we are filling in holes as much as we can. Some corners can be icy so be careful. We have been pulling as much snow into these corners as we can, but again it is not packing very well over these icy spots. Forecast looks for maybe a couple warmer days with some sun. A warmer day would help firm up the snow and give us the opportunity to pack them better.

Northern Adventures – no report

South Shore – South shore trails will be all groomed tomorrow. Trails are actually in good condition still could use some more snow along Lake Superior shores.

Waino – Trail 1 is in good shape to Port Wing, roads are a bit thin yet. Will groom again tomorrow

Washburn Valhellers – Trail 13 close to the lake still thin rest of trails are in good condition

White River Ramblers – no report

Trail Report – : Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin – February 20, 2025

Trail Conditions: Fair

Snow Cover: 0-5″

Date of Report: February 20, 2025

Snowmobile Information:

Ok, so it looks like a possible warmup Sunday. You are not looking so good, I would take some time off of work, and get some R&R on your sled. I always focus on the northern areas and the lakes, but fail to talk about our new 70 trail that runs along 70 from Highway F to Highway D. That was the reason we bought our Kubota, and VP Ken says it is in amazing shape. Our southern neighbor, and one of my other clubs, Minoqua Forest Riders, has their drawing and vintage snowmobile show this Saturday at Area 31, 10350 Gilbertson Rd, Minoqua. Ride trail 70 there and check it out. Otherwise my report is pretty much the same. Lake trails are great. River Rd trail 23 north of Moss Lake is great. Club trail from H down to Moss, Crawling Stone, and the Fence Lake Launch, has snow and Don should groom that tomorrow. Groomer Jay says Raven Lake area has some icey corners, and a few rocks, but is great. The rental tractor has rubber tires so it is harder to fix the corners. 17 North in the Powell Marsh is thin to rocks. 17 in the middle is pretty good, 17 south from Stearns Lake to Mattke is suspect. Trail 1, Stearns Lake Rd, and East Boundary, have a smiley face with a little snow, then a frown after it is plowed away. Sleds try to ride the bank and pull snow back.  5 into the casino is great. Hornshoe Trails are taking heavy fire, but the cold weather is keeping the Huns at bay. Eat, drink, and be Merry, for Sunday you may be in Utah. Mark
