EAGLE RIVER TRAILS IN FAIR TO GOOD RIDING CONDITION
January 9, 2022 – 7:15am 0 degrees – High of 23 today
Another day of wind with a high of 23 then back into the freezer tonight & tomorrow into Tuesday. 12 below tonight. High of 3 & Low of 12 below Monday. Back into the 20’s for the rest of week. Teens or single digits at night. SNOW on Friday. Too early for totals.
Heavy traffic on the trails all weekend. Haven’t been riding as we are volunteering at the Vintage Derby. Back riding this coming week.
Today I’m happy to report the Groomer Tracking System AP (GTS) shows nearly the entire system was grooming last night. Only a short section of Trail 17N north along Hwy 45N from Chain o’ Lakes Road by the Cenex Station to the intersection of Trail 3N was NOT groomed
REMINDER: Catfish & Eagle lake trails were marked & are NOW OPEN. To be safe stay by the orange reflective barrels. Note the spur from the northside Eagle Lake boat launch that leads to Eagle Waters is NOT OPEN at this time. Work in progress. Stay tuned.
There is a re route on 10/13/7/17 heading wes. Did stump grinding to help smooth out the area. New SNOW has helped that area a lot. It will take some time to smooth out & a lot of SNOW.
Construction on the Ice Castle started yesterday. The Castle is the first constructed since 2018. Takes cold weather & clear thick ice. Here’s a photo of the 2,000 blocks of ice that will be used to construct the Castle by the Eagle River Fire Department & many volunteers. Located on in town Trail 10/13 by the Friendship House & Historic Railroad Depot.
Would like trail photos so I can post to the report to let other riders see the real time conditions. Send them to info@baysidelodgingrentals.com
KEEP DOIN’ THE SNOW DANCE!
See ya on the trails!!
