Winter Snowmobile and All-Season Trails (As of 2/25/2020)

Currently, ALL of Douglas County trails are open. Trails are in good condition, icy in some areas with the recent warmer temperatures and subsequent cool down.  Please note, deer have been reported on trails, so please keep an eye out while traveling. 

PLEASE check the trail you intend to use is open and do not trespass on private property. It is critical that we respect the landowners who allow us to utilize their property.  It just takes one owner to deny the use of their land for a trail to be permanently shut down, so please be courteous and wait for the trails to officially open. 

The following all-season trails are currently open to ATV, UTV, and Snowmobiles:

In some areas, the grooming is coming out very chunky. Some high traffic areas have developed scattered icy corners. Groomers are avoiding the logging job between HWY D and Trail 24. Watch for logging on Trail 6 and Trail 4. 

NW Quadrant

Gandy Dancer Trail – Groomed (watch for deer crossing between Moen Road and County Road BB)
Saunders Grade Trail – Groomed
Wrenshall Grade – Groomed
Trail 0 – Groomed

Cross-Town Connector –  Groomed

Cross Country Ski Trails (As of 2/25/2020)

Douglas County Ski Trails – The ski trails have been groomed on 2/19 and are in fair condition. 

Superior Municipal Forest – Trails groomed, tracked, and touched up on 2/21. Overall trails are in good condition. Grooming will take place again on Saturday & Monday. Some of the classic tracks are absent from the beginning and there is some debris on the base. Overall in good condition.

Pattison State Park –  Groomed and tracked 2/21 and are in excellent condition. Full track depth throughout, with 19 inches base over 24 inches of snow in the woods. Vehicle admission to the park is required. (Last updated on 2/21)

Brule River After Hours Trail –  The skate lanes were freshened up on 2/24 and renovated most of the trail debris into the base. The classic track is still in good shape. Groomers are planning to reset the trails later in the week in preparation of the weekend once temperatures cool below freezing.
